Final score: - Peebles Rovers 1, Hibernian EOS 2
A strong wind and a heavy playing surface were not conjucive to the playing of silky football.
The young Hibs team held the upper hand for most of the game but in the end they were relieved to hold out for a narrow victory. Hibs led by two goals at half time but with the wind at their backs, the Rovers made more of a game of it in the second half. They had a controversial goal disallowed although the consensus of opinion was that "the ba' was at least a foot over the line," however they did eventually score with a minute left on the clock.
The two full backs caught the eye for Hibs and the team in general were a bit quicker and fitter than their Peebles counterparts. A healthy crowd in attendance and it was not a bad afternoon's entertainment.
I'm not sure who the Hibs scorers were but they were two good goals, one a solo effort and the second a cracking header.

Meant to say that the Peebles goal was scored by ex Hibs youth player Dale Richardson.
