For how long though? He'll be 34 when the new season starts

I'd take their whole team bar the keeper

What is the contract situation with their top players - Shinnie Doran and Meekins?

I'd rather we sign Kenny Miller. You know it makes sense!

Would rather get McKay & Doran. Maybe Draper & Ross as well

Foran is the heartbeat of a team far superior to ours.would have him at ER in a flash. Doesn't play like he's 34 and a good few years yet.

So would I. You never know. Excellent professional and if anyone is in doubt his goal and performance at Wembley says it all.

O and I'm sure Mackay signed a contract extension with Caley recently.

Butcher was praising his c/h recently [prior to Fenlons resignation], stating he could see big things for him in the future[seems I am going senile 'cos cant remember his name] and if he kept performing as he has this season, then the EPL Clubs would be in for him. Hope he [Butcher makes a move for him as we desperately need a good c/h] Would like Foran and Shinney as well.

Foran bossed the midfield last Saturday but I reckon my long deceased Granny would have put up a better fight than Hibs

I suppose it's inevitable that folk will say we should sign this and that ICT player but life ain't like that I'm afraid. The better ones, McKay and Shinnie have not long signed new deals IIRC

Better that we hope the ICT scout starts finding wee gems in their like
    This is how it feels

How many so called "good/excellent" players in other SPL teams have come to Easter road and become a disappointment and a shadow of their former selves? How many of our current first team have performed to those previous standards? Is it something in the Easter Road or East Mains water?

    Left by mutual consent!
I have a feeling that TB is going to be making a move for one of their CB's or maybe both of them, Warren & Meekings. Can't see McPake and Clancy staying beyond the summer.

I would love to see Doran and McKay signed up. But Doran has a contract till 2016 and ICT will demand a big fee from us for him. McKay, I believe has two years left on his contract and if he continues to keep on banging in the goals then surely clubs from down south will start showing some interest.

I would love to take Foran, bossed us. Even if its just for 18 months or something to get Butcher settled and imprint his philosophy upon the team.

People need to realise the odds in us taking anyone else from that team are slim. We've just spent 200k and I think Dorans, Shinnie, Ross etc would cost at least that, so unless dear rodders is up for supporting Butcher as much as he did Fenlon then i can't see us bringing in anyone other than Foran.

I read the thread title as Forlan and was wondering why the rest of the tread didn't make much sense. It doesn't help that Diego is also 34.

If Butcher can get us Forlán on the cheap, I would be impressed.

Don't see the point in bringing in 1 or 2 players from ICT. More than likely our players would bring them down to our level. I'd rather see TB working with the players we have and improving their fitness and attitude before splashing out on some quality.

Encouraging to see from this thread that among all our other shortcomings we've now turned into a fifth-rate version of the Old Firm.

It's perfectly acceptable for us to assume that players from successful provincial clubs will jump at the chance of joining the mighty Hibees.

I'd like to see Adam Rooney but think Oldham are paying him better than we can afford. Billy Mckay would be ideal but it's pie in the sky.

Let's hope Marsella can find some more hidden gems in the future

Foran is a good player, but hes also a bit of an animal. You could maybe argue that sort of fight is what we need in the squad, but cant say Id be a big fan of our players going out to harm the opposition. I think his age is also against him a bit, especially as he seems to be getting linked to becoming part of the coaching staff up there.

That's the very man. Thanks for that - it has been driving me crazy trying to remember the name.
