    Walter Smith - Hibernian manager?

He's just resigned as The Rangers chairman.

    Could he be the man?

If he'd be able to work with Jimmy Nicholl I'd take him, but not otherwise. Continuity in the management of the team is paramount. Wouldn't want a complete new duo of Smith and McCoist. Also McCoist's shown himself to be unable to deal with an eccentric chairman. So yes to Walt - he'd add a bit of gravitas to the club - but no to his protégé.

Wouldn't want him. The last professional Yorkshireman that wandered into Scottish fitba was a disaster.

    Have you heard something?

Wouldn't that be a case of Turkeys voting for, well, a Turkey?

Walter Smith is a Rangers man, always has been and always will be. He jacked in the Scotland job to go back to them and it's the only place he's ever had any success. They're made for each other.

  17. #16
He wouldn't want the job and the fans wouldn't want him. A no starter

How about a reality show? We give each candidate a few games to prove himself and at the end of the season we vote on the winner

Why on earth would we want Walt 'Disney-play-attacking-fitbaw' to manage us?

Experience in the top league in Scotland and England and at international level. The last manager we had who's ticked those three boxes in his career was GJP and he was a success here.

Nah, dream team potential. He'd have a point to prove.
BB had no point to prove.
Bringing in Bomber Brown would be a plus for the coaching team.

Out of interest, what do we know about Jimmy Nicholl in terms of coaching/management/tactics etc?

Agree with Bomber Brown. Last time we had an outspoken motivator was ... I can't even remember, it's been so long. Time to get a bit of fire in the bellies - we've been lacklustre for too long. Would getting Bomber Brown involve paying a fee to Dundee though?

Didn't he have Raith Rovers fans dancing in the streets of Bayern for a while? (I've always thought of him as the brains behind jolly Jimmy Calderwood as well.)
