Clearly didn't want to be Gary Locke's assistant due to all the uncertainty at Hearts

A missed opportunity he'll regret when Gary takes them to the Champions League

To be honest it makes sense for Locke as well to head off for a regular wage, and probably more than the Yams can afford.Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

Surprised at this appointment.
Tried and tested managers out there and they go for an untried novice. Very odd.
Golden shower boy Locke is the chat doing the rounds in Yorkshire to be his right hand man.

Guessing that's how they've ended up with Weir, but presumably he has some decent credentials after his time at Everton.

Search "Gary bend over Locke" it will take you to a thread on The Bounce, in the op there is a link to a killie website where said story originates from.

Could quite honestly see Jimmy Calderwood or some failed never-has-been.
