    Edinburgh-Glasgow Queen St line tomorrow

Noticed on Scotrail website that engineering work is taking place at Falkirk High and Croy tomorrow.

Does that mean that the trains will just be going to Glasgow Queen St via Falkirk Grahamston? Or will the train be stopping at Falkirk Grahamston and a replacement bus service used from there?

Trains will run from Edinburgh to Glasgow via Grahamston rather than via Falkirk High (as is the norm) and journey times will take about 15 minutes longer.

This is taken from the ScotRail website

We have put in place alternative travel arrangements to help limit the impact upon customers, as outlined below.

Demand will be high for trains to and from the Scottish Cup Final and Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 26 May - so we will provide additional services to help people’s journeys run smoothly.

Travelling to the Scottish Cup Final?
Edinburgh-Glasgow trains in both directions will not call at Falkirk High or Croy on Sunday 26 May due to engineering work. This work was scheduled by Network Rail before it knew who would be playing in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden. Falkirk passengers are requested to use Grahamston station rather than Falkirk High. Journey times will be extended by up to 15 minutes, so please allow extra time to travel.

A bus service will be provided for customers wishing to travel between Glasgow and Bishopbriggs, Lenzie or Croy. This will also connect these towns into train services at Falkirk Grahamston and Larbert.

To help meet demand from football fans, there will be additional trains and extra carriages between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida before and after the Cup Final, as well as additional carriages on Neilston/Newton services.

A half-hourly service – with extra carriages – will run all day between Edinburgh-Glasgow via Bathgate on Sunday 26 May. Additional carriages will also be used on the diverted Edinburgh-Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk Grahamston route.

Fans are asked to buy their tickets in advance and to be aware that queuing systems will be in operation at key stations. An alcohol ban will be in place on trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow stations, and between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida/Kings Park.

Using the Glasgow Central-Edinburgh via Shotts line from 25-29 May?
Due to Network Rail engineering works at Midcalder, buses will replace trains between Glasgow Central-Edinburgh via Shotts from Saturday 25 May to Wednesday 29 May.

Early morning buses have been arranged to help passengers reach Glasgow and Edinburgh before 9am on Saturday 25 May and from Monday 27 to Wednesday 29 May. These buses are in addition to the buses already in place to serve the route all day.

Remember, trains will operate between Glasgow Central and Carstairs, but with buses running between Carstairs and Edinburgh on the same dates as above.

Scotrail missing good opportunity tomorrow. they could make plenty dosh selling booze on trains. I'm sure even a bottle of Glens vodka at £25 would sell nae bother. Even pricing cans at a fiver, go down a treat wi the boys. The shots could be fiddly tho on that wee trolly.
pity, would be a good move and rake in the notes ...
