Story in today's Sun about Hibs cheating to win the SC in 1902.
Can't remember reading this in any Hibs books.
Can anyone shed any lite on this, funny if true but well out of order if not.

Is it the thing about putting on a Glaswegian accent and saying "leave it"?
In my opinion it's gamesmanship of the highest order and such quick-thinking should surely be admired rather than classified as cheating.Last edited by The Tubs; 21-05-2013 at 07:55 PM.

There was a newspaper report of the time that Atherton, who was Welsh, put on a Glescae accent and shouted 'ma baw!' causing Celtic players to let a cross run through to McGeachan, who scored.
Bit of revenge for the previous cup win which prompted the founding of Celtic, ironically at the suggestion of a probably pissed Hibs director.
Triumph and tragedy...

If that's true and it's proven to work, the players better be at it for the whole game on Sunday.
