The sleeper train from Kiev - Dnipro was an interesting experience. Myself and a mate shared a 4 berth compartment with the chief of police for Dnipro and his Mrs!

The lassie that worked in the bar in the buffet car couldnae speak a word of English, but, was able to sing us Beatles songs each time we sang her a Hibs ditty!

If anyone had actually seen him sober that would've been more memorable!

Remember being in a boozer (Watu) on the main street in Kiev when Steve Cardownie (IIRC his Mrs was the interpreter for Hibs on that trip) amongst others were in deep discussion re the impending arrival of Mr Romanov to Scotland. Interesting times!

There was a wee lassie (14 or 15) going about the square asking folk to write messages in her jotter so that she could show her teacher at school the next day. Some of the filth was shocking, I wonder what reaction she got from the teacher the next day!
