Was that the greatest Hibs comeback ever?

I remember us being 2-0 at ER In the 90's and winning 3-2. Can't remember who against. Also 3-1 down to Dundee utd and winning 4-3 and then beating Gretna after being 2 down. BUT, today was the best. The occasion helped. And my 8yr olds first trip to hampden.

Easy 5-0 v Napoli after losing the first leg 4-1. Nothing else can come close imo.

Previous to this was when we were 3-1 down to st mirren and won 4-3 in 91, me and my old man won the halftime draw to meet the payers at the next home game. Today pissed over that from a great height.

I'm pretty sure that Hibs have never come back from such a deficit in such an important game. Ever.

I can't remember a comeback like that in 50 years of watching Hibs. Talk about 'a game of two halves'. We could have won it with goals to spare in normal time.
i am totally drained, still in shock but can't wait to read the pares tomorrow.

Don't think we have ever topped that.
To be 3-0 down at HT in a SC semi final and come back to win, regardless of the opposition is an amazing feat.
Especially the way we played in the first half it was schizophrenic like fielding 2 totally different teams.
But huge credit must go to the team in the 2nd half to turn that round.

Napoli game was superb, today was superb Yet another glory day watching the Hibees. Those of us who stayed were rewarded. Never even entered my mind to leave. Up there with the Semi Final penalty shoot out win against Rangers, the 1-nil league Cup semi with Rangers, 6-2, 0-3 (Hearts and Rangers) etc etc but the only day it does not match up to is 1st January 1973!!!! Been at them all. It's no a bad day to be a Hibby.

Coming back from 0-3 to win
I've been going pretty much every week since season 99/00 when we came back to the SPL and I've been struggling to think of great comebacks in games.
What's everyone's best memories of epic comebacks like today?

Didn't we have a comeback from 3 down v Ayr with Franck and Russell just playing at the start of their Hibs careers. Game back against Killie after 2 down to win 4-2 maybe 6 or 7 years ago. Can't remember winning after being 3 down.

Yes. Never mind that we've - probably, but not in my lifetime - had other 3 goal comebacks, this was in the semi final of the Scottish Cup. After an abysmal 45 mins that was a distillation of the past 4 months. Insipid, slow and entirely dispassionate.
No one, but no one saw that coming.
Not just a great comeback, but the best I've felt after a Hibs game, except for CIS Cup 2007. Went some way to restoring my faith in what Scottish football can produce.

It was an outstanding comeback. To be 3-0 down to a team who had battered us first half, and to come out and show the fight and desire to turn it around like they did suggests they have a lot more character than we all may have thought.
Griffiths goal to win the tie made it even more special!

it was over 1 match
the nature of the comeback (so horrendously poor to so irresistibly good)
the quality of the goals.
It was truly a STUNNING, MIND-NUMBING comeback unlikely anything I've seen as Hibs fan. Even now hours after the match, still can''t get my head around we're in the Scottish Cup Final. Did that really happen ?

I can recall a match against Rangers around 1994 when Hibs came from 3-0 down to lose 4-3.
The best comeback from 3-0 down was when Manchester City played Spurs at White Hart Lane in an FA Cup time circa 2005. It was 3-0 to pursa at half time when Joey Barton was sent off. City with ten men came back too win 4-3 in extra time.

Like you, I can't remember ever seeing us come back and win from 3-0.
4-0 up, and not winning? Oh yes.
6-2 (3?) up and not winning? Oh yes.
2-0 up against Meadowbank and losing? Oh yes.Last edited by CropleyWasGod; 13-04-2013 at 11:46 PM.

It's happened before with Falkirk
We were 3-0 against them in a 1950 League cup tie at Brockville and won 5-4

As I've said elsewhere we've come back from 2 down to win in a few that I remember. 3-1 down with 20 mins to go in the early nineties to win 4-3. 2-0 down also in the nineties, to win 3-2, then 2-0 down to Gretna to win 3-2. Never seen us come back from 3 tho.

I was complaining a couple of months back that no team I support ever seems to do amazing comebacks.
Thank you for listening Hibs!
