Good news, it will be great to have him back. I hope he is over whatever was keeping him out for so long.

It would be nice to have some back-up for Maybury. :-)

Mayburys done pretty well in Clancys absence. TC would always be my first choice when fit but maybury deserves some credit IMO.

    Thumbs Up

    Perhaps a back 4 of:

    McGivern Clancy McPake Stevenson

No gripe with the four but did you simply pull them out the hat to determine who plays where?

Agree Bollah but for me Maybury deserves to keep the shirt for Friday
    Thought he's done well recently
Never going to be Roberto Carlos but imo he's an honest pro who does what Paddy wants

Correct, really don't get all these "Maybury Bashers" who jump on his back at every opportunity. The man wears a Hibs shirt, plays reasonably well - alough , admittedly not as good now as Clancy,- he always gives 100% and never hides. We would have been in deep dooh dooh this season if we didn't have him.

We have been very unlucky this season with injuries, especially our defenders. Clancy has been the worst, but McPake has missed quite a few too, and players like Maybury and Stevenson have played more than we probably all wanted.

Yet after saying that, we have done ok with that and i'm glad we have two decent professionals like Alan and Lewis, who have stepped in when needed and done well.

Any reason why Harris isn't playing or on the bench? Playing on Friday?

Not at all, until Hanlon comes back I'd move McGivern out to LB and put Stevenson at RB. He's played well there and I'd trust him more than Maybury.

Pour current U20s avg age is about 18, the players on the bench last week v Pars was just over 16.
we are maybe expecting too much from them.

I understand that but when I replied to you McGivern was the right back in your four.

the last time we played 'well, McGivern was torn up for ersepaper by the speedy right winger. McGivern was LB that day and was punting balls out the park between the West and Dunbar end to clear his lines. they scored from 2 resulting corners iirc.

I was sitting next to John Park on flights to and from Madrid a couple of weeks ago. Very nice chap and spoke very highly of Hibs! :-)
