The plastic boots he wears will not have offered much protection. Really lively in the opening stages of the match and put in some great crosses. After that he never really got into the game but always a threat when on the ball. Loved his tackle on that dirty jamboid who sparky pole axed.

Might be a good time to make a call to Kenny Miller and see if all the rumours of him wanting to join us are true.
(If we haven't already done so.)

As important as Sparky has been this season I thought Caldwell put in a decent shift after coming on and I also remember him earlier this season starting against ICT and performing well. So if Sparky is injured for a couple of weeks it can only do Caldwell's continued improvement the world of good.
Furthermore, I've been to a number of under 20 matches and he's always impressed me.

PF said in an interview last night that sparky's injury wasn't as bad as first thought :)

Mentioned it yesterday on the match thread too. Was also doing it pre-match and at half time.
Wouldn't read too much into that though TBH... Time will tell though.
EDIT
Oh and back on topic.
It couldn't be too bad as he attempted to lift up Fenlon when he popped back on the pitch for a wee celebration.

Slightly off topic but did else anyone notice Sparky going absolutely mental at LOB about 20/25 mins into the 1st half?

Don't know if it was liam who said something or someone on the bench but Sparky went absolutelty mental shouting and swearing in the direction of the bench in front of sections 3/4.

It was a relief to see the wee man back on the pitch at full time. I'd try and sort a short term contract with Kenny Miller and rest Sparky to try and force Wolves hand regarding an extended loan and tap Sparky up when his contract is up or by paying a nominal fee.
Hopefully the scan shows its not as bad as first expected as he will be a massive loss if we cant get a decent replacement.

He seems like he's matured a lot in the last year. And improved as a player much more than we could have hoped.
I actually believe he wants to play for us, his passion is incredible and hope his injury is not to serious.

Latest on Sparky injury, although it does not seem too bad he is still doubtful for Saturday, can't see them risking him if any doubt. Caldwell playing from the start in his place would be a good option for Saturday if he's out.

Hibs boss warns injured Leigh Griffiths may not face Inverness
Hibs boss Pat Fenlon today revealed it’s “touch-and-go” as to whether top scorer Leigh Griffiths will win his fitness battle ahead of Saturday’s SPL clash with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The Easter Road hitman was said to be making “steady progress” having aggravated an ankle injury which has been troubling him for a number of weeks early in the second half of Hibs’ Scottish Cup derby triumph over Hearts.
Although many feared the worst when they saw the 22-year-old being carried off on a stretcher, the on-loan Wolves star returned to the pitch on the final whistle to join his team-mates in celebrating David Wotherspoon’s deflected winner.
Today, though, while disclosing Griffiths’ injury wasn’t as bad as first feared, Fenlon admitted he won’t be making a decision until the last minute on whether the former Livingston and Dundee ace will travel although the player enjoys a reputation of being a quick healer.
Fenlon said: “It’s not as bad as first feared, he caught and twisted his ankle and there is a bit of swelling. Leigh has been receiving treatment and is making steady progress but I am not too sure about the weekend.
“We will see how he is over the next couple of days, he has a chance but there is also a chance he won’t make it. The one thing we won’t do, however, is take any risks. If he isn’t right, he won’t play.”

Wouldnt even think of gambling on his fitness. Get the boy properly fit for the Motherwell game and the busy festive period.
