Thread: Upcoming gigs?

  1. #2701
Decided against RATM due to the price of the ticket, think I may regret that decision going by some of the footage I’ve seen.

King Creosote was superb on Friday night at The Mac Arts Centre in Gala. If anyone has the chance to get to Kelvingrove Bandstand to see him I'd definitely recommend it

I'm back over this month and have a cracker of a week coming up:

22nd - Arab Strap - The Garage, Highbury
24th - The Twilight Sad - Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
26th - The National and Mogwai, All Points East festival
28th - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, All Points East festival

Unfortunately that means I miss Meursault on the 24th too; and I decided against Public Service Broadcasting on the 23rd.

Gutted. The combo of rtj and ratm was pretty much perfect for me. But I suppose if Zack is injured there's not much they can do.

Got good seats for Courtney Pine at the Queen's Hall in November, front centre of the gallery upstairs.

I like the Queens Hall. It's the venue I've been to most times.

They're a bucket list band for me so I'm ****ing devastated. Beginning to think I'll never see them live - this is the fourth time I've had tickets to see them and for one reason or other, haven't been able to go.

I did see footage of them playing the other day and noticed he was seated - not the version of Rage I really want to see!

Apart from the uncomfortable pews I agree, just about the right size for a venue.

Disappointing was close to getting a ticket. Interesting they are finishing the U.S. leg. Add them to Guns N Roses and RHCP for a Scottish no show.

Count your blessings on the RHCP front. One of the worst live bands I’ve ever seen!

I seen them in the 90’s they were good back then. Wasn’t planning on going more of a statement about bad luck for gigs here.

Maybe they need to get some advice from The Stones about touring other than missing a couple due to Covid(think they rescheduled and played them) manage to complete a tour.

Seen them a few times in the 00s - including THAT gig at Murrayfield, and they were shockingly bad. I hate bands that don't even make an effort to engage a crowd and Keidis is up there with the worst.

Next up for me is Arab Strap on Thursday. Should be good.,

Run the Jewels are still going to do the original date in Edinburgh (24th) but at the o2 Academy instead.

    Tickets on sale at 4.

Bit disappointed in Simple Minds last night. The show was good but a very short setlist by their standards.

Had plans to see the comedy genius Jerry Sadowitz tonight at the Fringe but the venues cancelled him. What’s the world coming to?

I find him as funny as a wet fart on a cold day, but the venue surely knew his brand of comedy when they booked him? It's not suddenly revelatory that he uses controversy as his brand of humour?

Yeah, me and the missus said the same, when Sanctify Yourself finished at 10.30 I was sure they would play two or three more as the curfew was 10.45 , but not to be.

Maybe not used to playing gigs two days in a row these days and has to take care with his voice, I know Fish has said things like that and they’re about the same age.

    Good show overall though.

Not quite a gig, but the book festival has started and I have a number of tickets for watching online events. Starting with val mcdermid interviewing Ali Smith yesterday.
