Tickets arrived in the post today for The Sweet at Queen’s Hall on 14th December.
OK - it’s really just Andy Scott and 3 others playing under The Sweet name - but their songs were a big part my teenage soundtrack, especially those written by the band themselves. Most of those were on the superb albums they produced in the mid to late 70s.
A band mainly remembered for the Chinn/Chapman hits such as Little Willy, Wig Wam Bam, Ballroom Blitz, Blockbuster, etc but actually a very underrated album rock band.

Rifles gig now clashing with the semi final.

Me and my mate earlier got tickets for Shed 7 at 02 in Glasgow, last weekend in November

Just got tickets to hear The Black Dog play ambient tunes in a victorian swimhouse. Speakers above and below the water and full light show 🐬

Also for Lanark Artefax & Lee Gamble doing an AV set. Heard LA is supposed to be unreal live.

So who's winning the battle? Hibs or the Rifles.

We're going to the gig and will just do the Final 😬

I saw her in October 2017 at Leeds Town Hall. I enjoyed the gig well enough, but I seem to remember she banged on about religion a bit too often for my liking.

She’s off the Bevy and the Drugs so that may account for that

That's definitely the case. I just found it a bit excessive 2 years ago, but she may have reigned it in a bit now.

I won't be going to see her next year because she's not coming to York or Leeds. If she adds dates, I'll reconsider.

Agreed. I was in my early teens and was initially drawn to them because of my 'love' of Brian Connolly. However, started to appreciate the music more after listening to the B sides of the 45's!! Saw them live twice and once the hits were played some of the set was very, very good. Might go to this one.

Has anyone received their Liam Gallagher tickets yet? I bought mine through See Tickets and apparently they're still waiting on them arriving in stick?

Nah it’s generally 2-3 weeks before the gig so wouldn’t be concerned at this point. Would imagine they’ll be out by end of the month

Got a few gigs coming up in the next few months where I’ll be checking out some newer up and coming bands:

Synthony (one of those orchestra playing dance music gigs)
    U2 (support by Noel Gallagher)
    Liam Gallagher
    Queen
    The Darkness

Was supposed to be at Metallica in 2 weeks but they cancelled!

Got tickets with the wife for Diana Ross at the Hydro in June. The Supremes are one of my favourite bands. Checked her average set list this year and it’s heavy on The Supremes songs and covers of songs of a similar ilk. Couldn’t tell you any of her solo songs so will just have to go to the bar when they’re on 😀 one to tick off the bucket list.

One of the best gigs I’ve been to was Martha Reeves a couple of years ago at Oran Mor. She must have been in her late 70s but still cane out in the 60s glitterball dress and still has lots of energy.

Seeing Electric Mary tonight in Bannerman's, amazing the number of very decent American
and Aussie rock bands that are relatively unknown over here playing these small venues.

Just been to Perth concert hall to see the Scottish songbook by Karine Polwart. Absolutely fantastic. Some well-known and popular songs along with other less well-known, all given a little twist.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.
