If I win the euro millions tonight, I'd love to go to Download - Rammstein are headlining Sunday!
One of the best live acts you will ever see, saw them in Newcastle & Birmingham last year and will see them twice in April this year.

In Lisbon on 16th & Madrid on 21st, can't wait, have they started to sell day only tickets for Download yet?

Yeah I see £82 listed for Sunday. If I get a job sometime soon I'll be getting a ticket - Stone Sour are there as well!

Just home from Simple Minds in Aberdeen. Two and a half hour set of timeless classics. Superb gig.

Hurts tomorrow (tonight) in Glasgow have a lot to live up to.

Saw Biffy Clyro at the SECC last night, first time I've seen them live and they were superb.

Seen a few bands at the (rubbish) SECC and they were the best.

Best band ever to come out of Scotland.

I predict a 5-pager on that statement alone

I saw them at the AECC on Sunday night and yeah, they were as good as ever. Despite only really going for Glitter and Trauma, they had a strong set.

Best band ever to come out of Scotland though!?

Apart from the Bay City Rollers of course.

Always debatable these statements as down to personal taste.

    Maybe one for another thread.

I'd say Puzzle is possibly the best album by a Scottish band but their new one is just awful.

Hurts at the Garage in Glasgow last night were absolutely superb. It's a long time since I came away from a gig on such a high. I don't mind admiting to having a bit of a man crush on Theo!

Mark my words, that will be the last time I see this band in such a small venue. They are going to be huge. They're already playing to full arenas around Europe and hopefully the UK will get aboard the bandwagon now.

As a massive Depeche Mode fan, Hurts would be the perfect tour support for the up-coming stadium World tour.

I really like Hurts, haven't listened to the second album yet, but the first was very good.

Why would you hope for that they start playing arenas in the uk though? I'd much rather see my favourite bands in smaller venues than in arenas.

Because they deserve it. I agree, it's great to see bands in wee venues. To be up close and get the banter between fans and band is great but you don't get the production levels in the Garage that you do in an arena. They will easily be able to fill an arena stage, in fact they already do in Germany, the Baltics, Poland etc.

Thoroughly recommend the new album. It's a bit less poppy and bit darker than Happiness. Good progression IMO.

Staying in Belfast tonight and The Outcasts are playing in Auntie Annies just round from hotel. Terri Hooley billed as dj'ing although I don't see any decks.. Enjoyed Good Vibrations earlier this week so a wee bonus to finish the Easter break away. Place is swarming with grizzled old Belfast punks who time has not been kind to it must be said!

Black Sabbath in Auckland in 10 days time. Should be a good 'un.

They are supported by Shihad who are a big name here in NZ (recommend a YouTube of them, some good tunes )

Haven't heard it, need to look it up.

I've got James in Newcastle on Monday. Then my own personal Depeche Mode tour kicks off in May with Tel Aviv and Athens followed by the O2 in London, Vilnuis & Minsk in July, Belfast, Dublin & Glasgow in November.

Do they play the same set list at each concert, or do they vary them?

Normally the same set, it's a bit like watching Hibs you turn up and you know what you are going to get. but in the case of a gig you can get a happy sing song.

Last tour they played around 21 or 22 songs each night and around 35 songs over the tour. They tend to mix it up if the play more than one night at the same venue and they make a few changes between the different legs of the tour. They have 10 or so songs that feature in every tour, add 4 or 5 from the album they're promoting and throw in a few suprises.

I've been to a few Wolfe Tones concerts in Aberdeen. They play the same songs in the same order and the place is always littered with Septic fans but it's a decent night out all the same.

not a good year for me band wise on festival circuit but for those who like a joint, jaunt even and biffy clyro(sorry not for me) a plukin excellent festival to attend. Oh and having been a great place to see the prodigy.

    and for the campers(not me)

    http://www.rockwerchter.be/en/line-up/thursday

(camping)did it against wishes and apart from usual cleanliness issues a superb experience as small bars in camp site are rocking through the night

also leuven(hibs played there last summer, lovely little place to spend a few days drinking and the home of stellla artois)
