Manics great last night, and a huge revelation in Low Hummer. Excellent support.

Erasure in Glasgow tomorrow & Saturday. Always a great night, especially when they fall on weekend nights. Just a party from start to finish.

Oh I have 2 spare tickets for each night if anyone fancies it……..

Liam Gallagher just announced Knebworth for next June. Hotel booked in Stevenage. Just need to get tickets now!

Delighted my nearest town Sligo is hosting Spilt Milk Festival again. Really intimate set of avant garde electronica, punk, folk & noise acts lined up http://spiltmilkfestival.com/

It’s kinda refreshing as although there’s a glut of amazing musicians in the area it’s generally the same rock & trad you hear playing.

Manic Street Preachers at the Barras tonight, can’t wait. Last time I saw them was The Holy Bible in full, not expecting any tracks off that tonight but should get some Generation Terrorists material.

There will be plenty tickets. That will be carnage, I'm too old for that carry on now. Watch your hotel doesn't take the piss. My mate booked a hotel in Perth for rewind festival at £138 for 2 nights, close to the event he got an email saying that they were cancelling the booking due to an 'administrative' error but they could rebook the same room for nearly £500 for 2 nights. Utter *****.

Got The Virginmarys at Opium in the Cowgate on saturday, cracking indie/punk band from Macclesfield, seen then a few times now. Playing as a 2 piece now, the bassist left a couple years ago and they had a friend from another band playing but they've decided to go with just two of them.

There’s no confirmation yet but I think it’s 80,000 per night, so 160k over the weekend. Still incredible. It was only 3 years ago people were suggesting he couldn’t fill the Hydro.

Inhaler at The Barras tonight were superb and the young crowd were bonkers. I wasn’t even the oldest person there 🤣. I suspect that’ll be the last time I see them for £15 a ticket!

Got my tickets for the Saturday at at Knebworth no bother.

The Ibis in Stevenage are however a shower of cowboys. Not just my booking but going by Twitter countless others were cancelled - only for the hotel to announce a gig and stay package, at about three times the price

Have booked a hotel in Camden area as we’ll be getting the train to Kings Cross anyway!

I’ll probably give it a miss, transmit last month was full of the dregs of glasgow and Hampden will be the same. Never been amongst a gathering of complete and other jakeballs like it in my life

If anyone wants a ticket for no more than face value, give me a shout

I'm going to see them at the Barrowlands tonight. My first gig there since December 2019. Feeling a bit goosebumps already. I'll report back.

Heres a review of the No Bounds festival https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/oct/18/no-bounds-festival-review-sheffields-electro-industrial-heart-is-still-beating?fbclid=IwAR1Vq7j5O4wimXtN1b61ZNRwZbJCq1s15 3eOWQZK_j41OFy2o5EtghSx9Q4

. So glad I flew over for it. Partly because of the line up & how wonderful its been in the past but also because it gave me real hope of how quickly things could go back to normal. There were no tests no checks no restrictions (I did do a test every morning though just for a wee bit of peace of mind). Everyone so friendly and just happy that it was happening again. The Black Dog, Aurora Halal, Helena Hauff, Julia Huxtable & Midland were the highlights but to be honest the line up was just class & everyone amazing. After two years wait just delighted something Id loved so much in the past could be just as good in the current situation.

They were indeed! I was actually quite surprised at how much of a younger demographic was there compared to when I've seen them previously.

I know of Ewan MacPherson from Shooglenifty but haven't heard this crowd. I'll give them a listen tonight.

Enjoyed it last night but I was really only there to take my 17 year old son along. The band were very good though. He had a great time in the moshpit (his words..) at the front. I was more into sipping my pint and tapping my toes :-)

Fontaine’s on Friday with my boy and lustforleith is next up!
