On the subject of ticket prices, there are three bands who I would always automatically go and see whenever they tour, that I have decided against seeing this year. Peter Gabriel, Roger Waters and The Who, all far too expensive.

But I'll keep my eyes open for cheaper tickets nearer the time!

Went to James with an orchestra & choir at the Usher last week, like whats been posted terrific versions of the songs.
Went round to the stage door after & waited about 90mins for them to venture out.photos & signatures the singer put asked us if we were going to Glasgow on the Monday, we didn’t have tickets so he put us on the guest list.
After show passes we’re in with the tickets when we picked them up.
    Weekend to remember .
That’s a great story. I met them back stage at the Isle of Wight festival a couple of years ago. They were incredibly friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy chatting to us. Very under rated band too. Their recent output has been excellent. Was gutted I had to sell my Usher Hall tickets.

Not upcoming but just home from Ruts DC in Dunfermline. Absolutely brilliant set with a mix of stuff off their two albums and some of the old Ruts classics. Really tight and great sound. Dave Ruffy really does make playing the drums look effortless and easy, but is one of the best out there at it.

We have Alter Bridge at the O2 Edinburgh on June 6th but the wife is waiting to go in for an operation in the next few weeks, so it may be a case of selling the tickets or going myself with my son's father in law.

His voice was in fine form when I saw James in Blackpool on Friday! Sounds like I got lucky. The orchestral version of Sit Down is infinitely better than the usual version. Tomorrow and Sometimes were the encore and were incredible.

Saw The Wedding Present at the Liquid Rooms last night, a great mix of new stuff and old classics. The new stuff is up there with the best they have ever done.
Over the next few months I have The Silencers, Belle and Sebastien and Public Image Limited to look forward to.

Always wanted to see the Silencers, would love to have seen the original line up as they used to play La Belle Angelle regularly

Was there last night also. I was a bit disappointed with the set list a lot of stuff I didn’t recognise. Think the last couple of times they have been here they played an album in full so might have been expecting a more classic set list.

Still always worth checking out though!

I saw them do Seamonsters in full last year. I actually preferred the mix last night. I was already familiar with a lot of the new stuff so that helped.

Both of whom I first saw in concert in 1975.

I saw BJH in 75 too , Usher Hall I think. I can smell the patchouli even now

Is this one of those bands that have got 2 different versions, depending on who's talking to who?

Yes, the band split into two BJHs in 1998, one fronted by John Lees, and the other by Les Holroyd. They are the only original BJH members left alive. Both bands continue to tour, although this tour was billed as John Lees' final tour, he is 76 years old. Good gig, RNCM is a very nice venue.
