Enter our latest free-to-enter competition to have a chance of winning a Hibs book written by John Campbell, a very well known and highly respected member of and contributor to this site.
Alan Lugton’s ‘The Making of Hibernian’ trilogy has quite rightly become essential reading for every Hibs fan. His documenting of the club's history from its origins to 1945 is truly remarkable. The baton has now been grabbed by more than capable hands. With the publication of ‘At Easter Road They Play’, the first part of a new trilogy by John Campbell, the wait for the latter part of our history to be documented is over. John Campbell’s name will already be familiar to many Hibs fans through his regular written contributions to the much loved fanzine, ‘Mass Hibsteria’ and as a former member of the club's interactive commentary team. Here at hibs.net, which John also helped to run for many years, we have been delighted to be able to publish and read many of his articles. His knowledge of all things Hibs coupled with an undimming passion for the club always shines through and this is exactly what makes his new book so enthralling. The Famous Five, title wins, big European nights, they are all here and more. Other fans may sing’ If you know your history.’ As Hibs fans we are fortunate in being able to do just that. Hopefully we are not kept waiting too long for parts Two and Three.
Here's how to enter - please read everything:
All you have to do is post, on this thread, who you think the first Hibernian goalscorer will be when we play Ross County, in Dingwall, in the upcoming SPL encounter on Saturday, October 20th. You must also add a time to your selected player and this goal time will act as a tie-breaker.
...One entry per person.
...Own goals do not count for the purposes of this competition.
...Guesses such as 45+2 or 90+3 won't count. 45 or 90 will include any time added on.
...Scorer and time will be taken from the official Hibs site.
...In the case of any duplicate correct guess being made, the winner will be the earliest correct/nearest guess posted.
...In the event of 2 guesses being the same amount of time either side of the actual figure, the lower time will win.
...Make sure no-one else has already taken your selections because, if two or more people select an identical combination, the earliest one posted will be in.
...If no player scores or there are only own goals or no-one selects the first scorer, the prize is held over for another time.
It's a 3pm kick off on Saturday, October 20th. Please get your entry in before the match kicks-off, otherwise it will be ignored.
Good luck!
