I heard them speaking about it on the radio. Springsteen turned up with demos he'd recorded when writing the songs, the guys listened to them and managed to record 3 tracks per day.

The E Street Band are monsters - incredible musicians.

I watched one of the videos. What struck me was that they all sat around, taking notes with pen and paper. None of that iPad ****.

So much for the "E" in "E Street".

Not a new album by about 39 years, but a lovely new 3cd re-release for The Scars one and only album ‘Author! Author!’ with tons of extra tracks, demos, some rough live recordings. It was released yesterday.

Really good effort from Cherry Red Records, mine arrived yesterday and Tim Burgess held one of his listening parties for the album last night which was great fun with narration on the tracks from (mostly) Paul and John from the band.

Good stuff, I knew Paul and John from school but I never had the heart to tell them that I wasn't really into their music! Still got the single of Adult/ery though.

Oh nice one, they’re from the Currie area I think, so guess you are too!

If it’s not your style of music, then it’s not, but I think the album has really stood the test of time well and sounds good even today.

And ‘All About You’ was the catchy melodic top ten hit that never was. Check out the great video of YouTube, some great scenes, including the old Waverley Station with the big red plastic seats which I remember well.

Cheers, I'll need to check it out. Aye they're were in the years below me at Currie High School. I always remember them hanging out in The Other Record Shop on a Saturday, good times!

Cherry Red is a great reissue label. How is the extra material?

New Laura Veirs album My Echo sounding good. Better than The Lookout which was a bit disappointing.

Used to buy my Springsteen bootlegs in that store in the late 70’s/early 80’s
My prize possession was his “live” recording of Santa Clause

I don't know if Shaka Ponk are known in the UK. They're a French electro-rock group who are celebrating 15 years together by releasing a triple album.

Most of their stuff's in English and a lot of it's excellent. They're also renowned as a live act & for their videos.

Maybe a good wee discovery for some of you.

Not that new, been out 6 months I think, but Cornershop’s “England Is A Garden” is very good IMO.

11 years old is obviously not new but today I've discovered that the Manic Street Preachers actually made another great album after Everything Must Go - Journal For Plague Lovers. Can't believe I've never noticed it before now but I just got so fed up with their non-stop anthemic stuff a long time ago.

I've recently been listening to Sex,Death and the Infinite Void by a band called Creeper, for fans of Alkaline trio and My Chemical Romance.

Also Misery Never Forgets by Wristmeetsrazor, this is for fans of very aggressive Metal/ Hardcore.

    First post, hello everyone! 👋

Gary Barlow has a new album/single out
The single “This is my time” could have been recorded by Prefab Sprout, from the Andromeda Heights album
