Lovely album she’s going to be a huge star.
    Agreed.

She sounds much older than her years and has a maturity about her.

I had a look but I'm never going to enjoy an album of 6 tracks which last 1 hour 12! 🤯

Not a new album but I revisited Grit by Martyn Bennett after I had cause to mention a track from it on another thread on here.

An absolutely phenomenal album. If you haven't listened to it I would recommend.

The guy that drummed for them drinks in our local pub in Blackpool, well used to drink in it. I've forgotten his name, but i spoke to him regularly most Saturdays in passing.

He's from Leith, used to drink in The Central bar and that pub halfway along junction St on the right going out of Leith that i also cant remember.

Really liking The Mariners & their album The Tides Of Time.

Not sure if they’ve got a record deal yet as found them on bandcamp , although they are on iTunes. They Only made 100 CD copies, so had to hold my nose and buy the digital album but I like then and don’t mind supporting a band trying to make their way.

No it's not him, he went to play with Pilot after the drummer left to join another band, i want to say Mott the hoople but that could be wrong. He did tell me, but as you can see from my posts, not a lot of it has stuck.

You mean he replaced Stuart Tosh? ST went on to play with Camel and 10cc.

    Or did ST replace him?

I was ambivalent first few times but I'm getting there with it. I appreciate what they’re trying but i miss the heavier sound.

Mogwai’s new one is pretty spectacular. I’ve found it really uplifting and life affirming which wouldn’t always be something I’d associate with them 😉

It's fantastic. A band I'm absolutely desperate to see live once we're able to do so again. Had some amazing evenings letting wave upon wave of 'Mogwai Fear Satan' or 'Helicon I' wash over an audience.

Im the same love seeing them live & been lucky enough to do so many times..The waves of sound make it a very tactile experience...Best time was in Dublin where they played 3 nights in a row in a place about the size of the queens hall...Left speaker one night right speaker the other & middle for the last one just to balance things out

Finally, a recommendation from you I have been able to listen to and, having done so, I'm pleased to say, I like it. 😁👍

Very excited. 'The Turning Of Our Bones' and 'Here Comes Comus!' are excellent. Caught their "Dissection" at Summerhall in November 2019 where they discussed 'Philophobia' and played most of it, just Aidan and Malcolm and it was fantastic.

I really like it. One of my pet hates is when a band reunite after 15-16 years, record a new album and it sounds like them trying to sound like what they did when they were much younger.

This isn't that at all, it's Aidan and Malcy in their 40s and not pretending to be otherwise. It's excellent.

Yeah really enjoying it..A definite progression without losing their Arab Strapness..Lyrics had me smiling, pretty funny in places.

I saw them at Leith theatre a couple of years back and they were loud as ****. New album is excellent, does have a very positive feel about it.

I've never really listened to Arab strap before but gave the new album a whirl the other night. Made it a couple of songs in and fell asleep, Aidan Moffat's voice is really comforting

New album Syn by Austrian outfit Innode is well worth a listen if you like your electronic stuff to have a more natural sound now and again. Synths mixed with live accoustics..Kinda like Raime with a bit more boogie here & there......bandcamps gonna bankrupt me this year
