Not really an album post but thought older music lovers would be interested in this.

Lou Ottens who invented the cassette tape and helped develop CD's has died, aged 94.

i still have cassettes that are pretty vital to me and even the ones I've digitised I keep hold of.

Nice documentary on Lou's invention. Still some love for the cassette amongst the youth as well.

Two fabulous new albums released today:

Lvndmarks - Lost in a Wave
    ERRA - ERRA

The second could easily be my album of the year already. It's absolutely sublime.

Braw - A Few Miles More was released today. For fans of The Proclaimers, Tide Lines etc. Guitarist is a good Hibby too.

Just ordered the Dinked archive version of 'Rolling Blackouts' by The Go! Team. The Dinked archive has some fabulous releases in it, comes on a picture disc, includes a picture disc 7" of non album tracks, a signed poster, an exclusive Dinked obi-strip and an exclusive dinked gold sticker seal on it. Limited to 500 copies.

I've also been a spendthrift and bought the Dinked version of Girl Friday's album. Local record store has a sale on some Dinked releases (Girl Friday, Kindness, The Phoenix Project) and I love me some Dinked records.

The Snuts who I have mentioned several times on this board as the Dad of one of the band is an ex colleague and friend have reached number one. Tremendous achievement for them, first Scottish band in fourteen years to reach number one with their debut album.

The album is a decent listen 👍 I seen them live over 4 years ago (I think) and they were very, very good. Things about to get serious for the lads!

The new Teenage Fanclub album is excellent. Possibly my favourite album of theirs, other than Bandwagonesque.

Loving the new Jello Biafra and The Guantanamo School of Medicine album "Tea Party Revenge Porn"

Typical blistering attack on American politics, culture and values that should be expected from anything Jello is involved in.

Where previous albums form this group have leaned towards the the more industrial side of his prior work, think Lard, this one is more reminiscent of the Dead Kennedys later stuff, I felt.

Not exactly new, but recently purchased.

Last night's vinyl was Looper, Offgrid:Offline blue vinyl and Frightened Rabbit, Tiny Changes.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

New Weller Album, Fat pop, arrived earlier, listening through it now and I like it. Another new sound tried, love him or loathe him got to give him credit for trying something new on each album. He’s been prolific the last decade or so.

New Dropkick Murphys album "turn up that dial" is a pretty decent one after a few listens.
A band that I loved mid 90s after they delivered some great singles and a couple of top notch street punk albums before they tried too hard to be a punk version of the pogues.
These days I just dip in and out of there new albums but this one has been quite a good listen.

I just gave it a listen and, yes, it's a nice album.

You wouldn't know they were from Merseyside though. More Los Angeles in their singing voice than Liverpool unfortunately!

Not an album, rather an EP:

Of Mice & Men - Bloom.

I thought they lost their way a little bit with EarthandSky but their 2 EPs they've released this year have been off-the-scale good.

New Beartooth album released this morning and it's ferocious.

Onto my third listen already - sounds much more like the classic Beartooth I fell in love with.

Raw, emotional, energetic and heavy as ****.

Not new but released on vinyl for the first time for record store day on nice pink vinyl. Buzzcocks a different compilation is a double album of re-recordings of some of the classics and a few b sides that formed their set list latterly. Whilst the original versions are still my favourites it's a really good listen and has had a good few plays over the last week. Really loving the version of breakdown on this.

Sorry, but not an album (again). One of my mates put me on to this relatively unknown pair from the town where he lives.

I've no idea what language she's singing in, just that her voice is great. The guy's not to shabby on guitar either.

Their other stuff on YouTube is good too.

The Passion Off - Special Interest.

This is great, not sure what genre I would say this is.

Bit of punk, industrial, techno and many others.

Street Pulse Beat is one of my favourite tracks this year.
