Cup is now being played in December iirc. Defo a 2 week winter break. Don't see what difference It will make mind. I could see earlier postponed fixtures being played over the break.

You can guarantee that the weather will be fine over this period and then the snow will come in February and March.

I quite like this idea. Allows teams with little niggling injuries to clear up. Means not having to fork out on away trip when money is tight and should put a few more bums on seats after the small break as people may have missed their footy fix.

12th of January is my birthday and there's nothing better than watching the Hibs win on your birthday. That's my birthday ruined then.

Load of nonsense. No one can predict the weather in Scotland. 3 years ago it snowed on December 23rd and we had a brutal winter. Same the year after. Last year, January was (relatively) mild. Last postponed game cause of the weather at ER was in July!

Presumably the idea is to have a couple of weeks for pitches to recover and possibly play previously postponed games, rather than expecting all the bad weather to occur in those two weeks.
