Section 43 have taken the decision to sponsor youth player, Rebecca McArthur, who plays for the U17s. Money has come from the pockets of a few members within Sect43.
The idea was raised after a match earlier in 2012, which the group attended to give it's support to the team. The girls have had a good start to the season, including a match which they had beat Murieston.
The group will continue giving support and attend various youth games throughout the season, and encourage all fans to get along and support the young Hibees whenever they can!
Our group aims to support Hibs at every level!
Fran McArthur the U17s coach was delighted with what Sect43 have done to support the team. "It's a sign of how far the ladies and girls game has come that die hard football aficionados Sect.43 are being so supportive in sponsoring Rebecca McArthur as well as their ongoing vocal support.

This is fantastic to see this, my sister also plays alongside Rebecca in the u17's girls team and they have had a fantastic start to the season. It would be great to see their support grow throughout the coming season.

Of course, it's only a matter of time before someone comes along to tell you that you should only be spending your money on the guys team, but I think Hibernian as a football club and institution should always strive to go beyond that.
Well done S43!

Should girls be playing football at all? I was told they're absolutely terrible at the game - just no good at all, and never will be.
Was I misinformed?
