But where will the money come from - catch 22?
Sightly impressed we've got 7000 + season tickets already (considering what has happened)
Come on those that are holding out - you know you want to!!

Personally I'm waiting until this month's pay day to get an ST after a year off last season, along with a friend of mine. I'm not sure if that's something to consider but I wouldn't be surprised if we've got a decent figure by the start of the season. It was the introduction of a new payment plan that swung it for me, I wonder if more could be done to advertise it?

Would have been good if there was an international season..Bit like I was a member at the Royal Muss & when I moved over to Dublin I got a country membership for a cheaper cost..Meant I could keep my handicap & when I come back I'll not have to pay a joining fee (I know this wouldnt be the case now as they are skint)..Anyway not sure how practical it would be to administer but maybe you could be allocated 4 games per season & there was some way to book well in advance, games you would like to attend? I'd like to get some sort of season but getting a full one would work out at around €100 a game..Id be happy enough to pay a couple of hundred..

Almost 3,000 extra ST to be sold in the next couple of weeks aye?
Good letter apart from that. They've made a rod for their own back with that target though. Wait for the threads as the season kicks-off:
"Did we meet the stated ST numbers target" etc etc
If we don't, and I'd be stunned if we do, then a whole new juicy round of "well why didn't we meet them: not enough investment, I've not receovered from the SC Final" and so on and so forth begins.

Good letter and good target. Only Hibs fans make it happen. Come on join the Hibs 7000. I reckon though that makes us the 3rd biggest in the SPL. So hopefully at least a top 6 place this year

Not getting a ST due to work constraints. But will be making an extra effort to get along to the games. Starting wi the derby.
On another note I think U16's should get in for a fiver. Affordable. Helps hibs wi the cash. Will fill a few o' those empty seats.

If we have already sold 7000 tickets (and that figure, frankly, amazes me), then why have we still got a team that Inverness (who only have about 1000 season ticket holders) could comfortably compete with?

My Grandad has decided he's going to get a ST after receiving the letter despite deciding last year was his last.
It wasn't really anything to do with on field performance but more the number of games he was missing due to his poor health.
His words of 'even if I don't go to any games, I'd rather Hibs had the money' says a lot about the loyalty of a lot of Hibs fans imo.

If we have a decent first half to the season we'll sell half season tickets and then more season tickets next summer and his job will start to become easier but this season is a case of stopping the slide and prove he's the manto take us forward, until we see some progress on the park the 10000 target is a bit optimistic imo

Can someone explain to me the value in a ST . 18 home games at £22 a pop works out at £396. If we play celtic at home twice it's cheaper to PATG every week than buy a ST.
And before anyone has a pop, mines is bought and paid for even though I won't be using every home game and never received my voucher for the free jersey.

3rd biggest support in the SPL - yet we have one of the worst teams. Something doesn't add up somewhere.
Petrie might be good with numbers, but he has shown over and over again that he hasn't got a clue how to solve that problem.

However, the only reason now I think maybe o should have renewed is its going to be a hassle getting a seat beside my mates for the games which is one of the reasons I go to the football so there are benefits, all be it not financial ones.

10000 is a huge amount. We had what 7500 last year and ended up 2nd bottom and then the most humiliating result nightmares are made off to end the season.
I am a st holder and paid for. But I really questioned why.
We have slashed budgets and still way behind or rivals and teams that have less than half our st levels. Utd, Motherwell etc.
10000 is a very large number in my eyes. I really hope people invest if they can and allow us to get another 3 strong signings on board.

Got two season tickets today! Although admitedly student ones. Really glad they've gone for a target of 10000, this is a club that should be aiming high. Think it'll take a couple of seasons to build a top 6 worthy squad although paddy fenlon's letter was promising!

It's 19 home games and your basing the £22 on last seasons prices, surely there will be an increase on PATG prices. The value is in knowing your a ST holder and have pledged the dosh to club just as you have done

If this is about buying into the club, they need to get a better PR person to explain that message better.
...and no, I've still not renewed. 405 is too steep for me just now. unjustifiable. I'll pay as and when I go.

is really time to stand up and be counted and everyone who can, get along and get a ST to help get the team on the park we're all craving.
Also - we've got what we wanted, no der hun's in the league but knew there would be a shortfall....lets fill that hole.
Hibs i think have bent over backwards to help all types of scenario's to get people to invest.....now looking forward to the new season.

This is a genuine question for those who have renewed despite initially being skeptical: what indication did you see is there that Hibs are going to have a change in fortunes next year after a series of dismal seasons culminating in our hammering by Hearts in May? What changed your mind?
Is there a limit to the number of times you can 'stand up and be counted' before you might reasonably expect something in return?
Or is this an entirely emotional purchase, not based on any expectations of value for money or return on your investment?Last edited by steakbake; 25-07-2012 at 10:44 PM.

It's definitely the emotional/stand up and be counted factor more than anything else. I think we are miles away from a top 4 or top 6 team but the club needs us more then ever and with some decent young players and a bit of patience we might get a smile back on our faces. Hope more than expectation.

I have bought a season ticket for this season which i bought at the time because it guaranteed me a cup final ticket.
However, i would have still done the same after the final anyway.
Why?
Because I will never stand down to those cheating vermin over the road, the club that are near enough £30 million in debt yet have still been able to offer players more than double what we have for the past say 6 seasons. Heart of Midlothian haven't achieved anything, they're 'success' and apparent dominance over us in the last few years is complete bull****. Given to them, not earned. While we've been living within our means, being the good guys they've been running up debts they can't manage and living for today but this will catch up on them and soon it will all come crashing down and we'll be the dominant force for many years. I'd still rather give them a spanking fair and square though.
£30m of debt gets you 2 scottish final wins, one against one of the worst hibs teams of all time (and probably on at least half the wages) and the other against Gretna. European football a few times and a 2nd place finish? If Hibs had £30m to spend I'd like to think we'd have a fair bit more to show for it than that.
We absolutely cannot let that final be the end of us. Sure it still hurts, but now really is time to stand up and be counted. Time to show those yam f**** that we won't take it lying down and we have to come out fighting: players, fans, board members.. everyone.
F*** THE HEARTS.

If Hibs, Hearts and Celtic make top six we will have 19 home games four of which will be category A brining total outlay for a walk up to £442 provided prices stay the same.
