    SPL European coefficient

How does the rangers situation affect the coefficient? Do scotland lose any points gained from rangers european participation if they are liquidised?

Makes no difference as all Scottish teams are out of Europe before October most years. Never mind how bad Harry Potters joke 11 are

Presumably if/when newco huns ever get back into Europe they will be entirely unseeded, having a slightly lower ranking than Gretna/Queen of the South/Raith Rovers.

Yes but the coefficient determines how many teams and at what stage scottish teams enter european competition. Could it be that losing rangers means losing another european spot?

I don't think the co-efficient would be amended retrospectively. Where there may be an effect is that the collective performances of Scottish teams over the next few years without Rangers may be worse than if Rangers were taking part so the co-efficient would deteriorate. Where there could conceivably be a retrospective change is if the dual contracts issue is proven and previous matches are awarded to the opposition - cannot find anything that says definitively what would happen in that event.

I can't see how they can remove the figures from the average. If so then surely they'd need to adjust every other clubs in the last x years.

Portsmouth will have gained points for England at some point, did England's change?

If my local baker wins award for selling the best pies in the country and goes bust 3 years later they still won those prizes.

The European Coefficients will not change. Plenty of clubs on the Continent have been binned with no changes in the cofficients.

It matters nothing as Rangers run to the UEFA Cup final will drop out of the rankings for the 2013-2014 season.

Scotland will drop out of the top 15 and hence will only get one in the CL (Second Qualifying Round) and three in the EL (Two in the Second Qualifying Round and One in Third Qualifying Round).

This can only get worse in the coming years. Scottish teams will struggle to get anywhere in Europa League because of the unfavourable seedings. The Champions League remains a possility for Celtic but it could be tough making the Group Stages.
