AN outspoken character who won 69 caps for his country, John Jensen scored Denmark’s opening goal in their 2-0 final win over Germany in Euro 92, a competition in which Denmark only appeared after Uefa prevented war-torn Yugoslavia sending a team. He played the bulk of his career for Brondby in Denmark and won seven Danish championships, but played from 1992-96 for Arsenal, where it was the central midfielder’s inability to score which gave him cult status.
