We need powerful brave leadership starting tomorrow. This aint you. Away to the SFA with all the other blazers.
Farmer actions speak louder than words.
For all Petrie apologists I don't mean spending cash we don't have.
There is a cancer of 2nd best will do, running through our club.
Petrie, Lyndsay, Fife, Hendry, Fenlon, all first team players should be shown the door.
We need to start again.

Fenlon needs to be given the appropriate tools to work with and time to wield his axe, and bring new players in....Next season is yet another transitional one, as Fenlon will have to rebuild a whole squad, he needs time to be able to do this....."There's class, there's first class and there's Hibs class" - Eddie Turnbull

Sadly on occasions i feel that the club has lost touch with it's main supporter - the fans.
I remember back in the mid nineties becoming involved with the club through helping to run a supporters club and bus in East Lothian. We had a great relationship with staff at ER - Janet, Dianne and Iris is the shop and office and Ian Brennan at the Club. I joined the committee of Club 86 alongside club legends like Kenny McLean Snr, Dougie Cromb, Alan Thom, Brian Penman, Peter Janetta, Gordon McCabe, Scott Murray and Willie McEwan. I was also the first person to dj in the Famous Five stand and remember some great nights such as a casino night for Gordon Hunter and a do for Frank Dougan, iirc when Frank left BT. There were also the Hibs Kids christmas parties the club's own christmas parties and other functions for Carlton Hibs and Club 86 and others.
At that time the club were so in touch with the fans and vice versa. Fast forward to now and many of those named above still watch Hibs but have very little other connection within the club. Staff at the club no longer identify with the fans and vice versa. Many staff some in important positions come across as arrogant, unhelpful and jobsworth like and as such there is a huge gap which has developed between club and fans.
My message to the club is this 2012 and not 1995 people have more scope more options and more will to do other things and football does not score high on many people's cards. Please try and be more open and approachable with more people and appreciate the contributions of those around you. Stop sitting on your well paid backsides and go out and engage with the Hibernian family. More importantly remember who it is pays your salaries, without them you have nothing.
I realise that after yesterday the club will take stock and change may occur, however, my worry is that the fan base is becoming detached from the club and to allow this to go on would be criminal.

I suspect we are fast approaching the point where it doesn't really matter if it is Petrie's 'fault' or not, it's going to be a belief among so much of the support that his position is becoming untenable.

Cue all the fans that will ask me what more they could have done, how could they spend more money blah blah. More wisely for a start, but thats not really the point, the point is the club must make the fans WANT to buy season tickets and support the club by attending games. You should support the club regardless I hear you say, well that maybe true, but the club relies on all the fans, even the ones that can turn their back quickly, because there are a lot these days.

However, on the pitch things just haven't been working. Why that is, as in what is the route cause is difficult to pinpoint. Perhaps a change at the top is required, even if it is just to freshen things up and offer the club and a clean break / fresh start.

It's like the execs at a manufacturing company doing well to make an amazing factory with brilliant facilities and employing managers, giving them good budgets only for rubbish to come off the production line that doesn't do what it's meant. The managers will take the brunt of the blame for a while but if nothing changes shareholders want someone elses head.

For anyone saying "what more could Rodders, Son of, Fyfe etc do", for starters, there's a culture and mentality at the club that has been rife despite multiple changes of manager/playing squads, there's a scouting dept. that seems to be drastically failing and there is a disconnect between the club and the fans.
Not everything that the Board is responsible for comes down to money.

Given that little array of silverware everyone should be following Rangers model and trying to emulate them but I doubt this would be advisable.
As BF said Fife is leaving and a new director was appointed so we will see what happens next. What wont happen though is that Hibs will not change their fundamental policy of not spending what we dont have. People dont "speculate to accumulate" in the SPL, they throw good money away.

Sadly, Petrie will view 2012 as a success. Stayed in Premier league, made it to a cup final and I suspect also managed managed a big rise in seasons tickets. Chiching!
From his perspective, where is the failure in that? I'll bet he's not hurting like the fans are.
