65840 is thebiggest crowd ever to watch a Hibs Hearts match, I believe.
If it was the old Hampden, capacity 140000, walk up on the day, what do yourecon the crowd would be and how many Hi-bees?
We will never know but my guess is that 65480 would be smashed. I think around85000 would be there roughly 50/50. Any thoughts?

Hampdump was rebuilt with too small a capacity. OF games and finals involving either of the OF, Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen could get over 52000.
Recent Scotland games such as Scotland v Italy, Scotland v Spain or Scotland v Holland would have got 75000.
I reckon this game could have got 75000.

When it comes to the games that matter, we have a far higher number that will attend.
Their ticket sales seemed to go extremely slowly compare to ours, I think that is pretty obvious. There appears to be an awful lot of Hibbies in their end for the Final.
It would've been a full house at Murrayfield to smash the record, 55to 65%Hibs fans.
Some Hearts fans I Know are crapping themselves over this one. We hold all the records against them, well the records that count

did we not take 40,000 to the CIS final against Livi?
this suggests even more for Scottish Cup final, against them. i can't believe they could not get toward 30k or more themselves, really don't understand this talk of them not selling out quickly, if true.
if we were talking equivilent 20th centure prices i think over 100,000.

It was but I think the word "If" in the OP indicates that Islington was wondering what the crowd would have been had it been played at the old HampdenThis is how it feels

Secondly the development was botched (by Jim Farry) by basically retaining the terraces and putting seats into the North, East and West. The views in the East and West are poor because the rake is too shallow for an all-seater and the punters are too far from the pitch.
The South Stand is OK but most of the best seats go to debenture holders, plus the 'suits' and the 'blazers'.

As the Hibs song says "And when i think of bygone days,as i do now and then" Just thinking of the amazing crowds we have been involved in,yeh the Easter Rd record attendance of over 65k when we played THEM, 143,000 (a world record for two clubs at the time)V Rangers,92,000 against Clyde,102,000 against Rangers at Ibrox,101,000 against Celtic at Hampden. Those were the days !!

Pretty sure without the ticket hassles and pay at the gate as stated then there would be plenty of neutrals from all over also looking to go and see this one.

What was the attendance at the 0 v 7 game? I mean before HT when most of them, emptied the ground and were then seen tramping around the ground greeting.
