Best game you've seen at Hampden. What's yours?

Mine? 2-1 win against Celtic in 1972 League Cup Final closely followed by 5-1 win against Killie in 2007.

I may have gone for 2-1 win for Scotland against the Czechs in 1973 to qualify for the 1974 World Cup but Hibs come first.

Hibs Rangers semi. I was only 13 at the time but it'll live with me forever! Excellent night.

    CIS Final no doubt.

Seeing Zidane's goal in the CL final was pretty class though

    This.

Although if you believe everyone who was supposedly there we must have had about 10 000 more at the game than I remember.

CIS final is obviously up there.

Rangers semi way back when especially as it was Gorams mistake that led to the goal, we went on to win the 1st available trophy since he left us 'to win medals'.

    I just love beating Rangers.

My favourite game at Hampden was the 5-3 Dryburgh Cup Final against Celtic.
#Some brilliant football played that day by Hibs.

The Scotland V Chezk game was also a thriller with big Joe scoring and the fans going wild!!

    Ah memories!

I was always going to mention that Scotland game too, because the atmosphere was incredible, like REALLY incredible. Like you though, Hibs come first, but the Killie game edges the Celtic game for me, with those incredible scenes at the end a truly special moment.

The killie game and the pens against rangers were brilliant

The France game was pretty special too - that's the one when mo Johnston scored twice

In no order of preference coz they all had their reasons to be cherished.

Hibs v Rangers 1979 cup final.
We wus robbed !!! ... If we had won on the Saturday folk would have called it the 'Benny Brazil' final MOM in my opinion.

Scotland v France World cup qualifier 1989.
60,000 fans and P1ss1ng rain ... Two of the most determined tackles I have ever seen in quick succession, by Maurice Malpas, a great night.

Hibs v Dunfermline 1991 League cup final.
The first time I ever saw Hibs win anything.

Hibs v Rangers League cup semi 2004.
A brilliant night and probably the best Hibs support I have ever been in .... All hail the 7000 !!

Hibs v Kilmarnock 2007 League cup final.
The best display by a Hibs team at Hampden in my time, not because of the quality of the opposition, but because we did what we were supposed to. Not to mention the most moving sing song I have ever been part of.

To the OP .... Dont start a worst day at Hampden thread or I will be here all night

I look no further than the 72 League cup win, following on the back of the 6-1 Scotish Cup drubbing, it just showed the character we had then. I was there and can still feel it now! Few good Dryburgh cup games as well mind.

It was a great support (and there have been other notable non-Hampden occasions (getting and filling the broomloan on two occasions and winning through both times (one on aggregate))), and it was a great example of the boys (and they were boys) on the pitch doing the business which ramped up the support, which ramped up the team, and so on.

CIS cup Final without a doubt for me, very special day!

After seeing us defeated at Hampden so many times before, it was just an amazing feeling to finally go there, not only to win but lifting the cup.

Heres hoping we can top that this year

The league cup 2-1 v the smeltik was special after the previous SC final drubbing. The Killie game was also special for all the reasons already stated. Missed the Pars final due to work.

2007 CIS Final for me. Although when considering my other two visits to Hampden were for the League Cup Final vs Livi and the Scottish Cup semi vs Dundee Utd, it's not much of a contest!

The 2007 CIS final was obviously great. However, turning up on a miserable winter night expecting to lose, only to be bowled over by the magnificence of the 7000 and the drama of a penalty shoot-out win means that the 2004 semi v. Rangers is a clear winner.

1-0 v. the Netherlands was fun, but it fades into the background compared to anything involving Hibs.

The semi final win over Rangers to get to the 1991 League Cup final was a great night.
Good nod over Gorhun from Keith W then some heroics from Mr Burridge...

Has to be 5-1 against Killie though.
