"lejog" Fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care at ER

    Hi Guys.

As many of you will know I did a fundraiser in 2010 at ER in memory of my dear friend Stevie Inglis.

Hibs.net'ers will recall him as - toaosi He sadly lost his fight with stomach cancer and I cycled "the rockies" in his memory.

Now I/we, plan to cycle "Lands End to John O'Groats" totally unsupported for MCCC and again invite you to a night at ER. Last time was such a success that we couldn't let it slip by when Eric Davidson, Scott Wilson (jambo, yes, but good a what he does ) and Steve Ponton offered their services once again.

    More info - https://www.facebook.com/events/265031370231187/

It's on 26th May and tickets are now available priced £30.00, all monies raised go towards out £10,000.00 target.

I do have a poster, but my IT skills are limited any pointers on how to attach would be welcome. It's a jpeg!!

We do have some wonderful auction/raffle prizes and I shall post a list when finalised.

    Please support, "the unsupported"

It's stories like this that sum up this wonderful guy. He was the reason I started this wonderful ride for MCCC, and I can't fail ....

To not complete "lejog", is not an option..

At the tender age of 52 , "I should be very worried" ....

I will second that Andy, met Stevie a number of years ago when i ran a boys team, his son played in the team and i got on great with Stevie and he would always go out his way to help me, he became the treasurer for my team and we had many drinking sessions every second Tuesday in the Ye Old Inn at D'Mains and our buisness was done in about 10minutes and for the rest of the night we would just talk about Hibs.

    Great guy and sadly missed.

You're raising money for a great cause.

My brother in law lost his battle with cancer a week & a bit ago at the very young age of 29

So I have seen first hand what a horrible disease it is, best of luck with all your fundraising efforts

Fantastic work LeithenHibby and I will certainly put a wee donation into your just giving page. Hopefully everyone who posts on here will do the same. Just a small gesture each could add up to a lot.

Firstly Bigstu, may I send my condolences to you & the family. 29 is such a young age and nobody wants to hear of someone so young passing away. Stay strong Mr.

It's when someone like you tells me how a loved one has suffered from Cancer, to think of failure with this cycle is not an option. Your Brother in law will get me up the road in no time.

Good on you! Not many things can cut a young healthy man down in his prime like cancer can! to see someone battle everyday for 2.5 years to beat the horrible disease eventually die is heart breaking. right up until the end he was 100% healthy in his head but his body just gave up on him.
All the money that can be raised to help find a cure for cancer & also help those that have it is well worth it & much needed.
Keep up the good work & best of luck

Hibernia&Alba makes a very valid point

Just text MCCC 62 to 70070

Or even better, get yourself along to ER and keep the final party

Remember Guys this event is on 26th May, many of us will just be thinking about going home for a shave for the first time in a week

Just to update you on this event.

As we are all starting to get to grips with the prospect of an Edinburgh final on the 19th May. It is with much excitement, nervousness and trepidation that I have invited the players to this event.

Perhaps they will bring along the family silver .....

I know that it could go belly-up, but the other option is so worth taking a chance on.

Looking very much like we will have another hotel break, but this one is in London, with west end show "Stomp" throwing in a couple of tickets.

I'm not sure what else I can do to try and get you along to ER on 26th May!!, it's like pulling teeth

Perhaps by the 20th May, you will be looking to keep the party going
