anyone know the reason that Hibs are historically usually always given the East stand at hampden?
why is it?

Easy.
1) Formally called Dundee Hibernian. SFA didn't know how to handle this so tossed a coin for who got which end.
2) At the time, Livi were being run by an ex-Celtc director and funded by a lottery winning Celtc fan, ergo were more "Timothy" than us.
