Heard some folk singing this at the St Johnstone game. I guess it has potential but the words need complete alteration. The 'Easter Road, to see the Hibees' bit doesnt fit at all

I think we're missing a trick with Fields of Athenry/Anfield Road. If someone could tailor the tune to a Hibs song I think we'd be cooking with gas. All round the Fields of Easter Road and what not.

Chorus was:
All round the fields, of Easter Road
Where once, we watched, the Famous Five play (and could they play!)
Lawrie Reilly on the wing*
We had dreams and songs to sing
Bout the glory, all round the fields, of Easter Road
*not sure if he played on the wing or not, but sounds good imo

Reilly was the centre-forward in the Famous Five, the wingers were Gordon Smith on the right and Willie Ormond on the left.
Could change it to 'Felipe Morais on the wing'?

*not sure of this line*
I heard a Hibee calling
Turnbull, they have taken you away
But you left a great eleven
Before you went to heaven
Now it's glory round the fields of Easter Road
--Chorus-- All round the fields of Easter Road
Where once we watched the Famous Five play (and could they play!)
Lawrie Reilly on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the fields of Easter Road
*not sure of this line*
I heard a Hibee calling
Turnbull, they have taken you away
But you led the great eleven
Before you went to heaven
And the Hibees, they're still playing the same way
Chorus
The glory, round the fields of Easter Road

Still not sure it'll go down great with others but will see what others think too.

Like!
This is the type of song that will build an atmosphere, much more so than short snappy chants.
