    Hibees in Australia...

    Alright guys,

Recently moved out here and looking for a decent place to watch the games. In Sydney at the moment, does anyone know if there's a decent boozer or supporters club to watch the game on Saturday...?

Also, in Brisbane for New Year so will be after somewhere to watch the derby. Any info appreciated.

    Cheers.

Should probably mention that Cheers doesn't tend to show Rangers games so Saturdays game might not be on! Jacksons on George St should be showing it though so I'm gonna head there, even though it might be heaving with Huns! Will make it all the better when we beat them!

The Pig and Whistle pubs in Brisbane usually shows games (both in CBD - Eagle St & Queen Street Mall), although the Eagle St one it is also the unofficial home of the Huns supporters club.

Also Jupiter's casino in Broadbeach, Gold Coast usually show the games too.

Star City casino, or The Star as it is now known always has a telly showing whatever Scottish game is on.

Most of us ex pats however, weary at making the trip into the city at silly oçlock and some not drinking because of the drive home, now have Setanta on at home, so we can watch the Hibs games f'rom theh comfort of our own lounge rooms, beer in hand, as we fight off Mr Sandman.

Almost certain I've watched a Hibs v Rangers game in Cheers before? Was about 4 years ago though so maybe it won't show it...

I've got setanta in the house, but I definitely miss the banter and fun of watching it with someone who gives a flying one and dosen't naively criticsise everything all the time (birds just don't get it..)y

The victory games are about forty bucks a pop for very poor standard. Decent crowds though.but I were you I would go and see dome AFL instead. At least you will get your monies worth.

I know it well I stayed in Spottiswoode, over the West Gate Bridge. Going to be in Diamond Creek, Eltham way. Do you ever watch the games in Charles Dickens?

I've obviously not taught you well enough Jamie, you should be plugging the Storm games by now pal! Shame you're back over here in May as the first State of Origin game is at the Dome on 23rd May. If there's one Aussie sporting event you go to, make sure it's that one (YouTube it if you need convincing!)

Good to know! The one benefit of my workplace is that I end up "in a meeting" for 80 minutes when the Origin games are on
