I've never heard that one before!

All the thousands of "supporters" that Man City have magically picked up over the past two or three years are all from the Greater Manchester area, right enough.

    Hilarious
Never one to laugh at others misfortune but today could only have been improved by rangers getting horsed and God pissing down a meteor shower of fifty pound notes on Edinburgh

Haven't City's attendances gone down since the takeover?

They were indeed. I was working for BBC Radio Manchester (co-commentating with Peter Barnes, no less) at the time and it was full/ish every week.

This thread and all the others previous must be true
No one from Manchester bothers with utd cos city are such a massive club. The stats above are clearly pish

FWIW I don't give a what team anyone supports anywhere, it's their prerogative but to suggest that Manchester is full of city fans in comparison is frankly bull***** !!

No doubt the glory hunting Hibby troll from Halifax will be round in a minute

In season 07/08, the season before the Sheikhs took over, Manchester City were getting crowds of around 40,000.

Now, they're getting around 47,000 at every league game.

    No-one mentioned Maine Road.

The facts are that in less than four years, Manchester City have found approximately an extra 7,000 supporters.

Now obviously that will happen with every football club that has received a major cash injection from a billionaire but let's not kid ourselves here into thinking that Manchester United are the club full of supporters from everywhere but Manchester, whilst Manchester City's fans all come from within a 10 mile radius of Eastlands.

    It's just not the case.

“I’ve supported United since they started winning everything, and I haven’t missed a game that’s been televised since.”

“Hopefully if we win through to round four we’ll get a local derby against Swindon.”

“I hope for their sakes that the game is on ITV or some of them might have to face the hardship of leaving their house and going to a pub.”

You mean they have gone back to the same support as they had in the first season at Eastlands. They averaged 46,834 in 2003-2004 as compared at just over 47,000 this season. They have got back those who stayed away during Stuart Pearce's spell in charge when they once went half a season without scoring a goal at home.

Amazing where those extra 40,000 United fans came from since 1989 when the average gate was 36.474 as compared to 75,109 last season.

Don't let the facts get in the way of your predjuces.

I'm not an expert on Man Utd, but I'm fairly sure the capacity of Old Trafford has grown dramatically since 1989. You can't fit 75k spectators into a ground that only holds 45k (as it did in 1989)

Firstly no need to swear and secondly for someone who is not bothered no need to get so worked up....

The Manchester supporting manure fans are not the problem its the glory hunting non Manchester based nobbers that annoy people and its just the same to me as someone supporting rangers or Celtic.

Then again guess you couldn't handle the JOKE.
