Hibs :
For the 1st time in years, I actually feel confident before a derby.
The defence were extremely solid against both Inverness and Sunderland,
They youngsters who came on against Sunderland coped well against a good English opposition outfit,
A great young prospect in Airey had (I think) signed,
Hart is injured (I am joking ofcourse),
Sodje and Agogo are meant to return for Tynecastle,
The team showed alot of guts to score a 93rd minute winner vs Inverness, W
We have a good goalkeeper in Stack,
And finally, I expect us to bring in a few more players before the derby.
Hearts :
Sacked their manager who took them to Europe,
Have shiploads of debt and hardly ever pay their players,
The players didn't seem happy at training on Paulo Sergio's first day,
They lost vs Motherwell (Nothing huge...) but can knock confidence,
And finally, I feel Agent. Romanov is doing a good job for us....
Hearts are bringing Quantity, Hibs are bring quality...
Bring on the Yams!!!

I just hope they win a game before we play them – Hibs have a horrible record of ending losing streaks (for the opposition).

I do agree though, this team is the first to give me confidence since the Brown, Murphy etc days. Bring on the yams!

Going by wages alone we are still the underdogs. The better team doesn't always win a derby and that could mean anything.

Well we blew a two goal lead against them in the 4-4 match with about 20 seconds to go. Only the Hibs eh ?

NEVER confident for a derby! Even seasons when we have bn streets ahead of them we've managed to screw up the derby games. They seem to get every scrap of luck as well :-( Fingers crossed this season can be different

Forgetting squads, I want to see more fight and passion from this Hibs Team. This is something Hearts have been better at us in recent Derbies and I am sick of it.

As one of Calderwood's critics I'm happy to retract much of my negativity and admit that his recent signings give cause for some optimism but certainly not confidence, particularly against them.

I really thought that if nothing else Yogi would have brought a real fight and desire to the Derby games but some of the performances under him were a joke and didn't get much better under CC. Its a game where fight and grit will win more often than skill.

Lets see where we are after the next two difficult games and see where we are. Jeez we were getting relegated just over a week ago. Sounds like Osbourne will not be ready for first team for a week or 2. Would like to see O'Hanlon and Agogo getting back playing and Airey getting a run.

Tailor made game for Scott I'd say - just sub him after his first booking.
I'm confident we'll compete well - whether we win is a different matter though.

The derby's still two and a half weeks away and we have two fixtures before then that we should be focusing on.
Hearts have four games before the derby, including two ties against Tottenham so a lot's going to happen between now and then.

Squads, turmoil recent history shows they tend pull it off when backs against the wall
I'd rather see us create a new era rather than look to the circumstances of the yams

Not expecting a complete turnaround in fortunes but with the players that we have in our team now, and results dependant, a wee bit of confidence, we have every right to expect better than the meek surrendering we saw last season.

Nah I can't ever be confident in a Derby, don't like to be either, always feel the more confident I am the more it'll come back to haunt me.
If we win though every yam I know will know of it!

Absolutely. For the first time in years we look like we could give the Yams a kicking physically. I have become sick and tired of watching our players get bullied and battered by some Yam orcs and now this time, Palsson and Osbourne look well able to assist Nid in dominating the Yam midfield. Black will lose the plot. Akpo, Junior and GOC look able to give the Yam defence one of their roughest 90 minutes they have had from Hibs in twenty years. Whether we win or not I'm not sure but it will be nice to watch the Yams struggle physically for once and CC may talk softly but he seems to carry a big stick, we will be up for it.
Bring it on!
