When we played them we were *****.

I'd expect us to give them a far better game if we were to play them tomorrow.

Rangers are rank rotten right now. I can't see Coisty being a success there at all, 3-2 on agg to Maribor for me

Does that Brazilian centre forward still play for Maribor?

Useful player. I can see Mr Weir puffin and pantin a wee bit to keep up with him.

Will be a tough tie but I think Rangers will just about have enough to get through. Am I right in thinking the guy that pretty much beat us single-handedly when we played them is now ripping it up in Serie A?

Yup, Ilicic is the guy you are thinking of. They played Palermo in the round after beating Hibs and nearly knocked them out. Palermo were that impressed they bought Ilicic and Bacinovic, a midfielder who is allegedly now interesting Chelski and Liverpool.

Tavarez did the biz at ER and earned me a few notes, Ilicic was then and is now some player.

Best player I have seen at ER in past 5 years....knew he would get bigger clubs given his ability and age......

Taverez was a brute of a player ...speed / power / touch and good link up play...

What a trip that was to Maribor, one of the best few days of my life. The football really seemed secondary to the adventure of the whole thing. Trains, planes and an Swiss postbus to get to this gem of a city.

I just hope the huns don't trash the city.

I doubt that, to be honest.

I think Maribor will beat Rangers. They have almost the same squad that they had 12 months ago and if they're playing at the same level that they did against us then I believe they'll be too strong for Rangers.

Maribor played a passing game at pace which no scottish team could match. They could be bullied by Rangers and the loss of the two above is a massive loss to the Slovenians so I expect a hun win but a close game.

I would echo what others have said, i.e Maribor beat a very poor Hibs team. It doesn't follow that they will easily beat Rangers.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Huns came through this one.

Any idea who the lad that looked like Arshavin was? He was sublime.

Have Rangers not been there before? Im sure they have played them in either the champs lge qualifier or uefa cup already. I think Rangers won over the 2 legs

Edit. Yes the huns have played them. Champs lge 25/7/2001

I would think over the two legs Rangers will go through. Could be tight though.
