As it says in the article, the fitness coach now has nothing to do with Hibs.

How on earth would he know what, 1. Garry wants and 2. what Hibs are offering.

So what wage demands would he have considering he's done next to nothing since leaving Russia. If he does return to England then I can't see any clubs in the EPL or the top half of the Championship wanting him. So IMHO his only options would be a team in the bottom half of the Championship, a league one team or Hibs.

It's not over until the fat lady sings.

As it says in the article, the fitness coach had nothing to do with the quote referring to what Garry wants, nor his wage demands.

"Although the player has been training in sight of Easter Road, and message boards have been suggesting that O'Connor might be one of the two strikers Colin Calderwood is hoping to agree terms with, Reilly played down talk of a possible return to Hibs, with the Scotland cap's wage demands expected to be out of his old club's reach".

    Martin Reilly is O'Connor's agent.

With GOC's recent injury prone-ness and general track record, this boy Reilly will need to be Willie MacKay mk2 if he's gonna get GOC even close to half as much of the wage packet that he's been used to!

    My bad!

Still though, an agent isn't going to come up and say they are open to lower contract offers, they will hold out until last minute.

Soiled goods. Buy them at your peril, 'cos you can't return them to the shop when they turn out to be not what you expect .

''Riordan leaving is coming from Hibs who have offered him £1500 a week from £6k - so the message was clear to him, if he took it they still got a decent player for the money but he will go.

Gary O' has in fact had discussions with CC and has confirmed he would sign a 2 year deal but as the story says, his wage demand will result in Hibs not agreeing terms.

Alan Smith has also been in talks with CC and was at ER several times a few months back when he was injured and has been back to discussa two year deal but again, he may be just a bit too expensive, this is why Hibs have dropped DR's wages as they have offered AS £8k - the word is he probably wont accept it and is apparently holding out for 10/12''

''It's always been just part of the culture. Growing up, for most working-class kids, is all about football, music or clothes. You might not have much money, but whatever you have got, you're going to look good.'' - Paul Weller

Riordans 6k a week wage was made up from a basic and weekly instalments of signing on fee when he came back from the dark side. When these finished his wage went back to his basic salary. Can you really see Hibs paying 8k a week to Smith

Hibs pay £8K a week? No way as far as I'm concerned. He's not likely to get supporters rushing out to buy season tickets with his scoring feat of about 7 league goals in the same number of years.

I guess not working and earning nothing is a better option.

Had me going for a minute. Thought Lawrie was coming out of retirement.

Would that signing ignite the fanbase?
