At Easter Road They Play - an update

Following on from my recent thread re the publication of my book At Easter Road They Play which is the first in a trilogy charting the playing history of the club from 1946 until the present day I've been advised by the publisher that publication has been suspended until next year when they intend to publish all three as a box set and to republish Alan Lugton's The Making of Hibernian also as a box set. Effectively that will mean the full history of the club from day one will be published at the same time. Importantly it is also the intention to make all six books available individually so that fans with any of the Lugton books can add the ones they don't have and which are currently out of print.

Needless to say I'm a tad disappointed at the delay but I can see where the publisher is coming from and it may be pretty well unique to be able to buy a complete history in box set format. There are plans to publish in eBook format too.

That's the latest - thanks for reading

Next season may well be a very good time to look back with nostalgia to escape the grim current reality... oops...

Good stuff J. Look forward to its release.

I've been meaning to get in touch re publication date - got an amazon voucher ready and waiting to be used. Never mind, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.
Who's gonna be the first Hibs.netter to go on Mastermind wi' specialist subject being ... History of Hibernian FC since 1875?!?

I think that'll depend on your gender.

Disappointing Jonnyboy - my missus ordered a couple through Tesco Books and they keep saying it's delayed but are making it out as if it's just for a few weeks.

I agree I'm fortunate to have all three and for anyone that hasn't read them ...... do so ASAP for a brilliant account of our early history

Can't find another thread on John's book but I picked it up earlier this week and am enjoying it immensely - one of the most "readable" Hibs history books I think I've seen and it includes a period directly after the war until the Famous Five that I didn't know too much about beforehand. Published by an Edinburgh publisher too, Birlinn, and if you haven't got it yet I'd thoroughly recommend it!

Publisher saying yes B but it would help if you search the book on Amazon and then click the link asking if you'd prefer and electronic copy. Doesn't oblige you to buy - just to register that interest

    Not thick, just right

Great stuff! Hope it does well.
Will buy the first one myself then drop the occasional hint about the other two in the run up to Christmas.
