If the question is "when does the window open"…

answer was 1 Jan (esp if you are Leicester City looking to sign His' Sol Bamba, or if you are Aberdeen looking to sign Stevie Smith for left back)

but the alternative answer was 31 Jan, if you are Hibs.

So, if summer is anything like that, the answers are:
1 July for most teams
31 August for Hibs
