I thought of this a few years back in school, using a nonagon(?) shaped pitch(9 sides) though. Everyone thought it was a stupid idea.
However, I think it was attempted during the fringe festival last year - I haven't been able to find any information as to whether or not it was a success though.
I think it would be interesting if nothing else.Mon the Hibs.

I can't come up with any reason why it wouldn't work... There would need to be three halves so everyone got a kickoff as well.

Offsides would be very complicated. Corners would be a laugh. I think its a winner.

it would save clubs money on stadium redevelopement. You'd only need to build 3 stands!

Are you guys joking?
A ref can't handle 2 teams on the pitch, never mind 9!
Would be great to have a 12 way royal rumble. And the last player standing wins the league for his team.

The OP may be on to something though. Something like this could prove to be entertaining with some interesting results.

I think you have confused 2 sided with 2 faced.

Hibs vs Rangers vs Celtic
Imagine the decisions that would go against us that day???Someone once told me that hard work wouldn't kill me.
I thought: "Hell, why take the chance"!

I played several times at a summer camp in my school days. Games tend to be close because if one team is getting ahead of the other two, the two gang up against the leaders. It would make the SPL more competitive if Rankgers found themselves up against two sides most weeks, so it might be worth supporting.
The tactical calculations get more complicated if you play it with two balls.

I thought this was going to be a thread about playing with a ball shaped like a pyramid (although that would really have four sides). Imagine the free kicks!!!
