    The new Eduardo Hurtardo...

Fifa futbol Mundial is on and A 19 year old Ecuadorian striker, excuse the spelling, has a segmant on it, says he wants to follow in the footsteps of the man in the title, says he was a great player and went to Europe to show the world or something,

is this our Hurtardo the tank!

Ecuador had another Hurtado at the same time as our one. He was a CB though.

    EDIT: Ivan, that's it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iv%C3%A1n_Hurtado

I think given time he could have proved a useful player - certainly a much better player than the likes of Trakys and Konte.

The guy had played all of his career on another Continent so to expect him to settle immediately was a bit much.

I remember the goal he scored against Kilmarnock was pretty good.

He didn't really get a chance - he arrived, Eck left for Hunbrox, the TV money ran out, Blobby came to ER...

I said in discussion before based on his record before us you would think a really useful signing.

When he arrived at ER I think his career was definitely running down but he was a living legend in Equador.

I remember going to a game away to Livingston when we had both Hurtado and De La Cruz in the team and there were actually Equadorian fans at the ground pretty much just to see him and they more or less ignored DLC.

At the time I suppose he had the status of a Dennis Law or Kenny Dalglish over there.

if we had got the tank a few seasons earlier he would have been a great signing
