SPL Wage Bill vs Premiership Wage Bill

I can't believe the crazy money Chelsea pay per year for wages - 172 million

Man City are 2nd with 133 million per year.

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...172.5m?cc=5739

Anyone hazard a guess what teams in the SPL are on per year ?

Thinking at the moment - in order...

    Tic
    Huns
    Yams
    Hibs
    Dundee United
    Aberdeen
    Killie
    Motherwell
    ICT
    ST J
    ST Mirren
    Hamilton

Doubt Hamilton are bottom, heard dougie imrie is on a very decent wage. Defend money coming through from an ex boxer/promoter apparently.

Never mind the salaries, anyone know how much tax the EPL players actually pay in the UK - if any?

And thats it in a nutshell. When Durie moved to Chelsea 25 years ago a young John Collins told me that it was very much a sideways move and that Chelsea were no bigger than Hibs. Television (and Roman Abramovich) has changed all that beyond recognition and the gap is getting wider every week never mind year.

Man city pay their players income tax, so when you read about £200k p/w salaries, that's a take home wage!! Unbelievable.

He unfortunately has the SPL teams that were in the league when he started the site.

AFAIK his figures are up to date for The OF, Us, Hertz,Dons,Arabs,Killie at the end of season 2009 and for some as late as end of season 2010.

This was brought about by Spanish clubs who started this. It's something to do with Spanish businesses pay tax as a unit rather than individuals. That's why guys who come from La Liga are on astronomical wages cos they want what they get in spain.

I've done a bit of research on the Premier League finances for the past few years and if you're interested in things like total revenues, player's wages, debt, profit and ratio of wages to turnover, you can find them all on this page I've published...

    http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Premi...eFinances.html

...the 2010 figures (year ending 31st December) should be available in another couple of weeks or so.

Sure the Sun had a headline the other week about how they are all dodging huge amounts of tax via loopholes.

Given our current economic circumstances, maybe we should start taxing footballers

Arsenal's turnover increased by approx £90m compared to previous season. That itself just doesn't look right. Maybe an error.

A season ticket at the Emirates costs about £1200 so that's £63 per game and you would think that price is cheaper than walk up, that was why they were so keen to move stadium, an extra 20k fans forking that out per game is going to add up....

So they have 19 home games in the PL and say another 10 in Europe etc. thats would mean gate money is only 20% of their turnover?

What is truly frightening is that £2m gate money per game is almost insignificant in the overall scheme of things now.

I think it's got something to do with the properties Arsenal sold-off when they converted their old Highbury Stadium into luxury flats.

Arsenal don't seperate their football activities from their property developments.
