    I don't see anything controversial about a woman as fourth official - unless of course the RC hierarchy don't approve of her?

    I trust these appointments have been cleared with Keith O'Brien? Wouldn't want him getting his cassock in a twist.

    Totally agree. I think the new rules have to include ratification of all referee appointments by Celtic Football Club and also Cardinal O'Brien as he has nothing more important to do.
