God knows, there's enough to criticize the team at the moment, but the club deserves recognition for allowing this:

Now, if the jesters on the pitch started playing with even 50% of the passion with which Maude supported Hibs, we'd be laughing. I never met or knew the lady in question, but have heard enough about her on here and elsewhere to know she was a bit of a one-off!!!

Good to hear the club granted her wish, a real hibby
As the Op said if half the mugs in the team now showed half the passion Maude did for the club we would be in a better positionWe are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

Hibs do allow this, but only behind the goals at the FF end.
My mate, Eric, who died just over a year ago will have his ashes scattered at ER too.

I've never known of the lady but reading the article it is clear she was a true hibby and a great servant to the club, its fair to say it seems like she will be missed by many.
R.I.P Maude hopefully in a better place now.

Can still remember sitting behind Maude at a mid-week league cup tie at Pittodrie several years ago. When Pat McGinlay wasted an easy(ish) chance to notch the winner he ran over to Maude and apologised for his miss. Such was the high esteem that Maude was/is held by the players and all the Hi-bees who knew her. A truly remarkable lady.
God Bless you Maude.

I had the undoubted honour of being invited by the family along to the scattering of Maude's ashes last Friday at Easter Road.
The day had started off dark and dismal but by the time we arrived at the stadium the sun was shining brightly. The stadium looked magnificent in the sunshine (on Leith) it was a fitting tribute to a remarkable woman who i miss very much. She would have loved to have seen the new stadium in all its glory and must have been smiling down on us as the ashes were scattered.
She will be taking her place in the goal at the FF end and will be waving her stick at the opposing keeper puting the fear of God in him!!!
It may have been significant that it was the anniversary of the 6-2 game against Hearts that day AND the first home game after the ceremony will be against Hearts too... So come on Maude get them TELT!!!!!
A great Hibby and a good and much missed friend finally at rest where she belongs.
God bless you Maude and of course the HIBS!!!! XX

Remember her well when our Winchburgh Supporters Branch was running. Met her regularly.
Excellent gesture to grant her wishes.
