Looks like Julian Edelman has torn his ACL last night

    Confirmed: Out for the season

We have plenty of weapons still, no doubt, but you can't replace an Edelman.

Amazing how one key player can alter your season expectations.

yeah, don't get me wrong as hes obviously a very good player but there is no way he's worth that. Aw well just a big cap hit for the Lions.

Hes not even in the top ten QBs in the league IMO. Crazy, but then again Baltimore made Flacco the highest paid player couple of seasons back and he was the same.

Josh McCown will start for the Jets week one. I couldn't remember much about him (there's other McCowns in the league), so I looked him up. he's 38, has played for seven different teams mostly as backup, only started occasionally, had stints in the UFL, has a passer rating of under 80, only got a few preseason snaps behind the Jets two young QBs, one of whom had a disaster (Hackenburg,) and the other one was seriously injured.

That was just after Flacco won the Superbowl though so its a little more understandable but I agree with the general point.

Jets are surely aiming for first pick in next seasons draft the way they are going....

I wonder if there are any decent QB's as free agents they could sign to make the season more exciting for their fans....

I genuinely feel sorry for the Jets.

They've suffered now for years of poor coaching and dreadful off-field management, and this off-season has almost been like a parody sketch.

They have a hardcore fan base, and a proud history and deserve a lot better than some of the stuff they've been served up in recent years.

I know they're the source of a lot of jokes/banter, and that they're one of our biggest rivals, but I'd love to see a strong Jets team as part of a much stronger AFC East.

The Jets and Jags are deliberately tanking this season. I'd be pissed if I supported them.

The Jags look OK I thought especially on D. The Jets though, who's their go to player? Forte? Chris Ivory? But I can't believe any team would deliberately throw the season. There's not much difference between #1 and #5 pick surely?

True but haven't they named Bortles at starting QB? They won't be winning much there unless their D grinds out.

Pretty sure both teams want the USC QB at #1 next season. (Think it's USC anyway.)

The Jags D will be gassed early in games cos the Offense won't do nothing under bortles. And the QB both are looking at is thinking of staying on another year lol

In regards to Stafford, the Lions don't have much choice but to pay up. Finding a franchise QB is looking harder every year. Unless you seriously luck out with a Brady/Romo type.

Romo was an undrafted free agent if memory serves me right. I think he had a fine career regardless. Many current teams would love to have abQB like him leading their team! 🤷🏻*♂️

Browns release cornerback Joe Haden who then promptly signs with the steelers. Good player on his day and iirc his first game will be against Cleveland

Lots of pace in your receivers and RBs last night - they'll cause teams problems.

Your secondary look weak though - Indiana picked them apart in the first half and continued getting success in the second half.

We start on Saturday against Florida, which will be a challenging proposition!
