    Kevin McCann

Starts for ICT v Cellic at 12.15.

    Hope he does well.

Still think he's got a chance of making it at Hibs.

He played the full 90 minutes in each of ICT's last three pre-season friendlies.

So certainly on the mend and in favour with Butcher just now.

Hopefully Butcher can teach him a bit about the defensive role as well, given his pedigree

It would just be our luck to have him come good when that position has been resolved, and we're now crying out for a left-back.

Paul Hanlon should be used more as our left back i feel, i no yogi and scots U21 use him at centre half but i think he's had stronger performances at LB for us.

Couldn't disagree more. He's as much a left-back as I'm a local safety inspector with specific responsibilities for sporting facilities in west Edinburgh. Has been far more commanding at CH, in my opinion.

    Yup, brilliant tackle from Kev.

Agree that PH is never a left back but a very assured centre half in the making. Like the opposite of McCann, alongside Hogg anyway.

ICT look decent. Plenty of pass and move. Wee Hayes playing well.

i think the defensive part of his game is defo his strong part.
Could really change the outlook for us to have a right back that concentrates on his defensive duties first n tries to feed in the right winger at every oporunity.
Strong, good pace and seems quite level headed.
    get him back!!!

Agree with you. When I watched Hanlon at LB early last season I thought he had no desire to get forward and looked pretty lost. At that time i thought he was probably another over-rated youngster but since then he has had some very commanding games in the centre of defence.

But with Ian Murray out tomorrow it's between Hanlon and Stevenson for the left back spot - and I know who I would go with.

Sorry but this is incorrect. Hanlon was exposed at LB for the majority of performances he made there. Mr Bob is correct. He's a developing Centre Half who should be played in his correct position as often as possible to help him become a better player.

When he played LB last season i thought he was terrible, was much better in the middle.

Still surprised that Lewis is still with us, he is never a left back though! Who was left back for the all conquering U19 team, Callum Booth?

I'm hoping that the 'plan' is to bring Booth back into the fold in January after his loan spell with Brechin is finished and that he will feature more regularly in the first team for the remainder of the season.

That could mean that Lewis would no longer be required from the turn of the year onwards.

Of course, Yogi may have completely different ideas.

PH is as natural a CH as I have seen in years. He has a big future there so lets not turn him into something he's not.
