No Tommy Younger? This must be a mistake.

    Beautiful, deserving everyone.

I hope in future the fans get the chance to be canvassed for future inductees. I am sure there will be a flood of nominations, we have had some fantastic players at the club throughout the generations.

I agree with the inaugural nominees, I hope Sauzee finds his way into the hall of fame at some point too.

While agreeing about Tommy Younger it is the omission of Willie McCartney, Hibs manager from 1936 to 1947, that surprises me most for it was he who put together the basis for the Famous Five. His successor, Hugh Shaw, would not have the success he had without Willie's legacy

    Darlin willie groves?
Philly McGuinness, Leitrim GAA, died playing in a club match for Mohill. He epitomised all that is best about sport, making a 6 hour round trip to training three times a week from his workplace in Mayo, and was never late. His motto was 'Give it all, or give nothing'. One for all sportsmen to consider.

Whilst I agree with that, surely Canon Edward Hannan the founder of the club should be on the list

Aye, that does seem a surprising omission. As an earlier poster pointed out, you can't please everyone on the player selection front but overall on that front I think the nominations are soundly based. On the non-player front the selections of Harry Swan & Sir Tom Farmer are also soundly based but surely the inaugural nominees should include Canon Hannan? I am sure the selections will be explained in full in due course, or at the dinner itself. On the other hand, maybe the selection, or non-selection of Canon Hannan is because some would argue that he was not in at the start.............

Cannae argue with the nominees and bearing in mid that there will be inductees every year, I think that Benny, Joe T and Cyclops will feature soon! Am looking into getting to the even in October. Some heroes and friends listed.
