Walking to the ground chanting hibee tunes whilst under (quite heavily) of all day drinking Lasko.

Nice city, nice people, good natured trip away. Only a good result and direct flights could have improved it.

Cheers for the big beach ball, you spent long enough blowing it up (I was at the table beside you!)

The bonny policewoman who was escorting us to the game.

As we were being marched along, I asked her, "Why all the police, why the helicopter escort? We (the Hibs fans) are kind"

She said, "I know you are kind, but ours are not".

    I appreciated that.

Also, the Maribor fans dancing with their back to the goal near the end of that game was very impressive.

Beat me to it. Our fleeting appearance on the bbc was enjoyable, as was every second sat drinking in the square. Another for me was standing alongside another hibby wearing an old hibs top as we held eachother up during the game.

Sorry, I'm not letting HibeeJen take the credit for blowing it up!

I lost half my lungs on that thing. Turned out to be a good investment though Jen ....well until it burst

This is not exactly a 'highlight', but a memorable moment was after the match when there were about 20 of us Hibbies all huddled under a 'sun' shade to get out of the mental rain. We were a right sight, dripping wet in Hibs tops and kilts. We were all saying to each other 'I didn't sign up for this' - getting beaten 3-0 and experiencing weather worse than Scotland. It may have been a 'new low' as someone said but we all laughed about it and I will certainly laugh about in the future. It was a great trip anyway and that moment will always stick out in my mind!

Ordered taxis to take us to the train station on the Friday, which was 4km away. Train was at 1022, and at 1008 when they had failed to turn up we were panicking majorly.

The hotel owner, who had ordered the taxis, got asked if he had a car. When he said yes, we basically told him to get it fired up and the 6 of us jumped in the motor. 5 of us in the back seat, bags in the boot, it was more or less doing wheelies all the way down the road.

After a mad sprint from the taxi rank, we made it to the platform at 1021, and the train pulled away just as my 67 year old dad got in the door.

That then gave me the perfect excuse to hit the buffet car and get some Croatian white wine down my neck. Along with a Weiner Schnitzel.

Taking advice from Hot shot Hamish, we decided to purchase a Vinette on the way to Maribor. I bet it saved us a fortune

the patter in the square from 12 to kick off at night pre match was top quality - although the rate of inflation in Maribor was staggering. €4.40 for 2 Pivo Biers at 12, €6.50 by 3pm and €10.50 at 6pm.

would'nt have missed it for the world

You were robbed mate. Our round of 12 beers and a vodka mixer was 25 euros all day. I thought the union was decent, and thats from a non lager drinker.
