    World Cup XI

I realise I'm a wee bit sharp with this and that if van Persie scores a hat trick; I'm going to look a right prick, but here goes for my team of the tournament:

    • GK Eduardo (Portugal)
    • RB Lahm (Germany)
    • LB Salcido (Mexico)
    • CH Bruno Alves (Portugal)
    • CH Lucio (Brazil)
    • MF Xavi (Spain)
    • MF Iniesta (Spain)
    • MF Sneijder (Holland)
    • MF Φzil (Germany)
    • FW Villa (Spain)
    • FW Klose (Germany)

No space for Forlan, Gyan, Schweinsteiger or Robben; which is pretty ridiculous really. Anyway, I've gone for players that I have been impressed with and enjoyed watching.

Does anyone think that they could better that team?

    No a bad team mate.

I liked the look of the Nigerian goaly..Just a shame he's in a pish team..And the Paraguayan LB looked the bees kness (Now a Wigan player ? )..

Could make a few starting elevens TBH.

The boy Salcedo for Mexico was immense, wouldnt bet against seeing him in the prem eventually.

The most steriotypical mexican man, shaved head, gold teeth, the name carlos etc... a true hispanic gang man

Was just about to say him.

Is that the chubby looking guy that plays at LB?

Salcido has been great for 3 tournaments now. Used to really enjoy watching him, Osorio and Marquez as the most attacking back 3 you'll ever see.

For me Godin (centre half, not captain) and Ferreira (right back) have been unsung heroes for Uruguay.

    My world cup 11 would be a 4-3-3 formation;

    GK Iker Casillas.

    CB D. Lugano
    CB Lucio
    RB S.Ramos

    MD Mesut Ozil
    MD Wesley Sneijder
    MD Enrique Vera

    FW D.Villa
    FW M.Klose
    FW D.Forlan.

Thats pretty good Maybe Honda and Iniesta would feel hard done by. Diaby was a stand out for a dismal France side but there were loads of good midfielders at this world cup. Robben was good too but misses out for being an arse in the final.
