Anybody else getting the train down for the friendly? Our plan is the train down around tea-time on Friday and back up Sunday evening. I understand you stop in Preston and switch trains there, does anyone have any idea how much a return from Waverley to Preston costs, and wether or not you need to book the train from Preston to Blackpool?

We've found a return for £42, first class. It is only £1 dearer than standard class.
Departing Waverley at 1812 on Friday, leaving from Preston at 1900 on the Sunday.
The hotel we're looking at is £55 for the weekend, we are required to send down a deposit although i've no idea how much that will be.

Tip for those booking the train is to book separately from Waverley-Preston and then Preston-Blackpool as the latter is a local line within the same rail region so should work out cheaper.

Is it easy enough to get a train from Preston to Blackpool on the day or should we book in advance? Also how much is it between the two?
