First year it ran I seam to remember it was quite competitive and near full strenth sides played - fast forward a year and it was just a run out for the young uns.
Last I heard of it they were looking to expand it beyond Hibs and Hearts and well that was that really.Last edited by Banter; 17-06-2010 at 08:34 PM.

with the rising costs of football I think part of it was that we already play each other 4 times (unless yams fail top 6) earlier intertwatto and qualifiers for Euro messed things up too.
I think the idea of having Edinburghs twinned cities in a cup is a grand idea. Take yer pick...

My dad has a programme in the loft from the early 80's, a tournament was held, sure it was in Edinburgh between Hibs, Hearts, Coventry and maybe even Man City?
Any .netters older than my 19 years shed any light on this?

IIRC, the games were double headers. So, when H**rts played Man City, for example, City had a decent (green) support
I also remember Coventry wearing a horrendous chocolate brown strip.
And Joe Corrigan almost killing Colin Campbell.
And my old mate Jim Brown scoring for us against Man City.... at Tynie.
