Fenerbahçe fans set fire to their own stadium!

    This is *** crazy!

Fenerbahçe were top of the league, final game of the season the league is in their own hands. They are home to someone, and the game finishes in a 1-1 draw.

They thought they won the league as the stadium announcer told them so, he made a bit of a cock-up! But they hadn't won the league, they finished 2nd!

Pitch invasion believeing they won the league

Word filters round that infact they won nout and celebration tunrs into chaos instantly! Fans smashing and burning everything!

Certainly seems a bit more radical than the occasional curse and shake of the head with which i register my discontent from the FF upper.

I think this is one of the results that conspired to make Celtic unseeded in the CL qualifiers.

No - but I'd love to see the Very Best Fans In The Whole Wide World going to Fenerbahce for the Qualifiers....

BTW - the Jambos did exactly the same to Tynie after the Celtic game.

    Nobody's noticed the difference yet.

I don't know how they get away with doing such things. Imagine that happened here, the club would be punished big time and i bet if we were going to Europe they would ban fans or even remove us from the Europa league.

I'll put money on nothing as bad happens to them though, it's as if they expect this from Turkish fans and that its ok.

Turkish fans are a bunch of complete nutters, especially Fenerbahce and Galatasaray fans, and we all know about Souness and his time in Turkish football, sticking the Galatasaray flag in the centre of the Fererbahce pitch and causing a riot. We think that we are passionate about football, for them it's what their lives revolve around. I do sincerely hope that we don't go to Turkey for the Europa league, that would probably be hellish.

Would love to draw a Turkish side in the Europa. Having experienced Greek nutters, a Turkish trip would be taking things up a level on the mad scale!

Great atmosphere sometimes though. This is the Besiktas fans and the 'conductor' is i believe a prominent fan (?carsi).

    Now this is a bounce.

Shows you how mental Souness was placing the Galatasaray flag in the centre of the Fenerbahce pitch, these Turkish fans seem a wee bit excitable.

great video! heard a story a few years ago about McDonalds opening a branch in the Besiktas part of Istanbul, they decided to keep the logo red + yellow, it was then promptly firebombed! no messing

    That is absolutely mental.

I really hope we don't get a Turkish side in Europe, that would just be a recipe for disaster.

They'll suffer a ground closure (it happens often) I can't see a club being banned from Europe for problems at a domestic home game .
Its not unusual for a game to be stopped if supporters continually abuse the referee in Turkey . At least the players now know the fans were less than happy

I'd love a European tie against a Turkish team. Certainly beats the atmosphere in the FF stand where I sit of women reading hello magazines (nevermind sectarianism, get this crime reported to the police) and teenage girls fannying about with mobile phones for 90 minutes.

An absolute scandal they get away with this all the time, in any other country the team in question would have the book thrown at them, a start of season 20 points deduction and a hefty fine will give them a kick up the erse they deserve, they should be forced to implement strict safety rules as well not just doing what they want and getting away with it, makes my blood boil that does!

Me too, if you dare to stand up now, just to scratch your arse, you are told to sit, or its out the door. Why do we have to adhere to every letter of the law, while the turks and other foreign teams just seem to ignore them? And nothing seems to happen, yet we have parts of the grounds being closed in britain.

Because they are alot more organised. The influence supporters have in foreign countries is massive, especially Italy, Greece, Poland, Turkey etc. If the SPL decided to close a stand in Scotland for a game due to missle throwing or sectarian singing etc, everyone would probably just accept it.

If they tried that in Turkey they'd riot. Feners ultras group 'Kill for you' has thousands of members, Galatasaray's group 'UltrAslan' also has 1000's of members. Groups like them effectively control the clubs, presidents (Chairmans) bankroll them to ensure they are elected Club President in the future etc. The power they have is unreal.

Someone posted a few links to Marseille ultra groups. Do you know that Marseille give the groups season tickets at much cheapness so the groups can then sell them to members at a slight increased cost, so they have money for flags, pyro, displays etc. Argentina is the worse for this I believe, fans of the same team have fought and murdered eachother to control the curva as there is that much cash to be made. Mental.
